Yep! Most startups don’t survive first year or so — given the $$$assets of this one, my guess is there is capital like infrastructure involved. 🤔 I wonder whether / where there is an aggregation of AI businesses / ventures somewhere, and their angel investors / VCs / etc funding streams?

WPATH was handy for me as it’s global and written by / for healthcare providers specializing in our care — helped me get a sense of “practitioner lingo” vs how we talk amongst ourselves about our lived experiences. Still lots of gaps in my clue! Couple of subreddits were useful as well.

My PCP at the time was part of the regional hospital’s gender clinic, so paperwork &tc was pretty straightforward. Used WPATH SOC as reference, both PCP and my therapist at the time wrote out pretty much boilerplate “yep, gender; recommend they are provided care” letters.

WPATH Standards of Care were helpful for me. My PCP was more aware / educated than most? But/and having the guidelines helped both of us navigate paperwork, letters, etc. wpath.org/publications...

Nah, it’s for-profit health insurance companies wanting to have barriers to care — it’s not coercive, typically follows WPATH guidelines, and is affirmative care; may include additional Dx like depression, body dysphoria, etc. Letter required for medical gender care; therapist writes “yep, gender.”

Talk therapy with a focus on gender identity. AFAIK, required by USA for-profit healthcare for anyone seeking gender-affirming medical care *before* person can receive care (meds, etc). IMHO has corporate process box-checking and gatekeeping vibes: anyone seeking gender care ought to receive it.
