I hate centrists so much dawg. "Different beliefs" bro some of these people's "beliefs" include the deportation and deaths of people like me. I always hated that shit man. Different opinions should be shit like "I like chicken instead of beef", not "I think brown people shouldn't have rights"

Sorry, I'm only just seeing this now because I never received any notification, but I think the shelves might be fully firmly bolted into the walls

I would be curious to know what your noise floor is like if you have the numbers on that with this setup, as well as if you did anything for the ceiling because literally every part of this room is concrete including the ceiling

110

Lana Redlich @lanaredlichva.bsky.social · 29/01/2026

I should probably also mention the ceiling is also concrete. Every single part of this room is concrete and there are also shelves drilled in which means I probably have to layer these blankets in intervals even though those shelker is going to be where I was going to put my microphone and my screen

I would still occasionally hear stuff from the refrigerator that was in the room outside the closet or from the furnace, since it was only when both the furnace and the refrigerator and nobody was talking in the same room that I could truly get a -60 dB noise floor or below

Lana Redlich @lanaredlichva.bsky.social · 29/01/2026

I just remember that for my walk-in closet I had to use 3-in acoustic foam as well as rock wool panels and an old duvet as well as a rug and cushions on the floor for sound dampening and

Lana Redlich @lanaredlichva.bsky.social · 29/01/2026

It's also an extremely irregularly shaped room that's a fair size bigger than my current walk-in closet and I'm not entirely sure how I would ever be able to fit those together, but I'll see what I can do. Thanks!

Lana Redlich @lanaredlichva.bsky.social · 29/01/2026

I might be forced to move my recording space from a repurposed walk-in closet That I had rockwool panels, 3-in acoustic foam, and a duvet hung up for sound absorption and dampening and move it into a concrete room And I'm not looking forward to this prospect So any help needed?

000

Lana Redlich @lanaredlichva.bsky.social · 29/01/2026

Anyone know if it's possible to soundproof/sound dampen an all-concrete room to reach a -60 dB or below noise floor? Or will I have to accept that if I am out into the situation, I might be dealing with a noise reflective nightmare from here on out. More info in replies

I decorated my phone case yesterday and made a new wrist strap for my new phone and I'm so much happier now to have my phone fit my aesthetic again (Also yes the wrist strap is a reference to "Pink Pony Club" by Chappell Roan)

theres so much horrible shit about the murder of renee good, but there is something deeply terrifying about the way everyone from media to politicians have erased her wife from the story. ive seen far more mention of her late husband than her wife who was sitting next to her when she was murdered

I put off making my VO resume for so long because I knew I would hyper obsess over making it look perfect but I think I got it to a place where I am happy to show it off!

This is me realizing I shouldn't shy away from the aesthetics and stuff that make me happy if I can find a way to make it look semi-professional and I'm here to kick my own fear that people would think I'm less professional for liking pink because news flash I really love the color pink

130

Lana Redlich @lanaredlichva.bsky.social · 08/05/2025

Updating my website and decided to play around with the aesthetic a little bit and the fact that it went from a cute little Chic bakery color scheme to something that vaguely reminds me of a Neapolitan ice cream bar right now?? Astounding. But very cute all the same

I also have an adorable frutiger aero y2k-aesthetic wireless aqua mouse that's coming in that I plan to use in the booth since the wireless mouse that pairs with my wireless keyboard is kind of weak But now I'm just realizing that everything in this booth was a personalized aesthetic choice

BOOTH UPGRADES 95% DONE!!! I upgraded my door to a solid wood door, plus got rockwool panels, thicker foam, a monitor, and the comical tangle of extension cables that you don't see Outside my booth! I'll be receiving my bass traps after Easter, but otherwise I'm ready to record again!

Pour one out for me I'm currently in the middle of upgrading my booth which means right now it's without a door while I fit a new one which means if I wanted to record I have to book a recording space. I go and book a recording space, and I get in the booth and it's way too echoey. 😭😭😭
