Now that I’m thinking about it some more, I do like jewels a lot so maybe I’d be like a corrupt dwarf or a dragon or Finrod, with a huge hoard of gems and jewelry

Finally someone is asking the real questions! I would give in pretty quickly if I’m being honest. But I don’t have grand ambitions, so I think I might end up like Gollum/Smeagol. 😬

Yeah. This is the first time since early November that we’ve had more than a couple hours of sunlight to charge our batteries; lots of clouds and snow. Lol. We’re in Northern Michigan

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 31/01/2025

We live off grid and use solar as our main source of electricity and we’ve had to run our generator like 10x more so far than all last year combined! It’s been crazy what a big difference it’s been this year.

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

I want to read the Hobbit this year! But then branch out to non Tolkien books too. That’s my super non ambitious plan so far 🤣

010

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

Money and car. I’ll take more money! But I don’t need another car. Lmao

110

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

Same here! I’m not enjoying it nearly as much as threads but I’m conflicted!

010

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

That seems probable. By the time she was ready to come back to her hröa, Finwë and Indis were separated for a long time anyway so it’s not like he had a relationship to go back to.

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

I struggle with social anxiety too and it takes conscious effort to step outside of my comfort zone of introversion and actually interact with people. I know how difficult it can be so well done!! I think it will probably be worth the effort in the long run (the jury is still out for me lol)

3. “Get the gone from my gate, thou jail-crow of Mandos!” 4. “Come forth, thou coward king, to fight with thine own hand! Den-dweller, wielder of thralls, liar and lurker, foe of Gods and Elves, come! For I would see thy craven face.” Let’s add more!! #tolkien

Finwë fathered some sassy boys. Here are some sassy quotes from his sons: 1. “Get thee gone, and take thy due place!” 2. “This is sharper than thy tongue. Try but once more to usurp my place and love of my father, and maybe it will rid the Noldor of one who seeks to be the master of thralls.”

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

By far my favorite book in the History series.

000

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

Season 2 made S1 much better in retrospect too. At this point, I’ve completely removed myself from the ROP slander online. It’s undeserved and comes off like people don’t really get Tolkien if they don’t like it. But that’s just me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m late but my vote is Vinyamar. Was Ulmo hot? I bet he was.

110

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

Damn! That got dark real quick. Lol. I was going to suggest Vinyamar when Tuor met with Ulmo and Voronwë.

This is totally the aesthetic I like: total integration. Lol. I like it when Tolkien and Middle-earth are just a normal part of life.

A UK 1st edition, 10th impression Return of the King that I got as a Christmas gift this year! #tolkien #luinellë

It’s wild to think MAEGLIN was probably allowed to be rehoused when Fëanor wasn’t. I can’t imagine that his spirit would have been “healed”. The dude was a huge dick. Massive. He’s totally the kid that kills small animals as a child that ends up being a serial killer in adulthood. #tolkien

Someone should superimpose Elon’s face on all the Nazis in that movie.

120

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 19/01/2025

I think 3 people in “entertainment” are incredibly important for children to be exposed to: 1. Tolkien (duh) 2. Fred Rogers 3. Carl Sagan I’m trying so hard not to do the brain rot shows with Iroh.

010

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 19/01/2025

Y’all… Nosferatu was so good. I guess it’s technically horror, but it’s definitely not scary. It’s very atmospheric and gothic and moody and the sense of dread is just so good. Probably the best vampire movie I’ve ever seen. Robert Eggers really is so talented.

020

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 19/01/2025

I’ve read him the Adventures of Tom Bombadil already. But he won’t remember any of it, obviously. Lol.

110

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 19/01/2025

One of the bartenders asked what I was reading and I got to explain who Christopher Tolkien was and what the History of Middle-earth series is about. He looked like he was drowning by the end of it. Lol.

080

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 19/01/2025

Taking myself on a date tonight: a beer, Athrabeth and then end the night with Nosferatu.

150

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 17/01/2025

My favorite part about the show is specifically a non-book thing: the genetic dynasty is such an ingenious way to deal with these huge time jumps without having to recast a bunch of characters every episode. (Granted, I’ve only read part of the first book so take that with a grain of salt)

210

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 17/01/2025

Foundation is by far my favorite sci-fi show since Battlestar Galactica. Not enough people talk about it

110

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

Sorry guys, I don’t like Bluesky. It’s official. I tried, but it’s not as fun as Threads was.

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

No doubt he’s handsome! I’m just sayin’ he needed to be applying SPF way more if he’s only 3k years older than Galadriel lmaooo (that sentence is honestly so ridiculous to even type out)

000

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

Could never be me. That shit is way too complicated. Lmao.

010

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

I lied. He’s actually 2,990 years older than Galadriel. Thanks for the reminder @fuidhrandir.bsky.social that 1 Valian Year is actually 9.582 solar years.

3121

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

You’re right! I totally forgot. I honestly block that section of the Nature of Middle-earth out of my brain. Lol.

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

I’d like to learn how to make this hair net.

000

Always wear SPF. That’s the lesson to be learned here. Lmao.

110

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

Just so YOU know, Círdan is max 312 years older than Galadriel. The dude got shafted in the genes department.

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

For some reason, I imagined it smelling like burning flesh as sort of a foreshadowing of what they were about to start doing. Is that too dark? Lmao

Lammoth Wraith @lammothwraith.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

What do you think the reek of the burning of Nimloth smelled like? #tolkien #luinellë

Sadly, 5 years ago today: we lost Christopher #Tolkien at the age of 95. He edited around two-dozen books of his father's works, and brought us much of what we now know about Middle-earth, for which we are all incredibly grateful. He is missed. Namárië.
