Everyday, I’m blown away at how much more cannablisitic tech becomes My bike is going to get a lot more miles. There are sooo many games/movies. Who needs this new ai slop generation? New games/movies look pretty, but lack the creativity of years past. SNES and dvd player are getting lots of burn.

PlayStation has lost me. I’ll be moving to pc fully instead of ps6. And I WAS a huge fan. I have 2 PlayStations (disc version) and a ps5 pro. I wanted to be able to play all around my house. I should have upgraded my pc instead. I’ll even spend the money on ridiculous memory prices in spite.

PlayStation making me fix up my pc. It’s older, runs a 2080ti (EVGA, RIP) and has a mortgage payment with of ram (64gb ddr4). Should get me by for a bit until prices come down. Sony isn’t really doing single player recently anymore anyway, so what do I need them for? I’m not about live service.

People always ask me, an infosec engineer, why I utilize as little tech as possible in my home. Why do I try to leave my phone home, or in different rooms. Why I don’t connect my tv or smart devices to the internet. Well, this is why. #booksky Non-things by Byung-Chul Han

The infosphere is Janus-faced. It does give us more freedom, but at the same time it exposes us to more surveillance and control. Google presents the interconnected smart home of the future as an ‘electronic orchestra’ with the inhabitant as ‘conductor.’ In truth, however, what the authors of this digital utopia describe is a smart prison. In a smart home, we are not autonomous conductors. Instead, we are conducted by various actors, even invisible actors that dictate the rhythm. We expose ourselves to a panoptical gaze. A smart bed fitted with various sensors continues the surveillance even during sleep. In the name of convenience, surveillance gradually creeps into everyday life. The informations that free us from so much work turn out to be efficient informants that surveil and control us. In this way, we become incarcerated in the infosphere.
