Thanksgiving's tomorrow back on Earth, but it doesn't exist here in Almater or Dismater. At least, not anything near like on Earth. Well, things have settled down after confronting Jade. Alexis ended up bring Jade's sister Pearl to resolve the situation. Even Dragon culture back in my home world had that to some degree. I don't think there's any culture in existence that doesn't end up with that to some degree.

Well, from the looks of it back when societies here were dependent on the use of magic, those issues were not nearly as well known and documented. Therefore, it wasn't considered a defect since it was never really an issue back then. Though mana pools can vary some even for those without a defect.

It's not entirely unprecedented. Though the Zenith condition effecting a person's mana pool is now recognized as the defect it is, there's still some prestige with possessing a great mana pool and capacity for magic. Manatech has made it less prominent but it's definitely still present.
