New York has honored Spider-Man with “Spider-Man Way” at Ingram Street and Ascan Avenue in Queens. The Forest Hills neighborhood is where Peter Parker grew up in the comics.

The story does feel fast paced at times but if that doesn’t bother you and you want to enjoy a short game that has horror and romance. Then I do recommend this game!! :3

The Doll Shop is a game I enjoy playing and will be replaying until I get all the achievements done- see what secrets are hidden beneath the base of the story! I plan on saying more once I finish the tasks and get Ending C. I want to try and find everything the game has to offer!

🎃 Stardust Frightingale 🎃 @ladystarfinch.bsky.social · 14h

Plus, me feeling like there could be more makes me excited for any other projects the development team has in mind. Like if their first game is this well done, despite the flaws then what how great will their other games be the more they become experienced with game development.

🎃 Stardust Frightingale 🎃 @ladystarfinch.bsky.social · 14h

I feel like there could be more but the game is short and the story is so massively written. Not saying that’s a bad thing- the developers did a great job keeping the story alive in the short time span of the gameplay. Especially with the game having hidden cutscenes you have to replay to get.

100

🎃 Stardust Frightingale 🎃 @ladystarfinch.bsky.social · 14h

I have finished a majority of the tasks already- I just need to find one more poster and get Ending C. I have Ending A and B. I find Ending A to be the more emotional so far- I literally kept saying ‘oh, no’ in my head as I watched it play out.

100

🎃 Stardust Frightingale 🎃 @ladystarfinch.bsky.social · 14h

Which makes you curious about the tasks and the additional cutscenes you will get upon completing the tasks. The choices may feel like they serve no purpose since the dialogue hardly changes in that exact moment but any choice you make will make a bigger impact somewhere in the story.

🎃 Stardust Frightingale 🎃 @ladystarfinch.bsky.social · 14h

The story is simple but the dialogue between the cast and inner monologue of the main character is what makes the story emotional and intriguing. It is easy to follow but there is still a lingering of mystery that leaves you wondering what exactly the game is keeping from you as you play.

🎃 Stardust Frightingale 🎃 @ladystarfinch.bsky.social · 14h

Another artistic I did enjoy was how literally 99% of the cast is just static figures- showing us how closed off the main character is from the rest of the villagers. Instead of designing each character, the developers choose to visually show us the lack of connection that is there.

100

🎃 Stardust Frightingale 🎃 @ladystarfinch.bsky.social · 14h

The characters are so really expressive- there are moments where I am focusing on reading the dialogue only to notice out of the corner my eye, the main character is actually reacting to what it is said and his expressions just say so much! You can tell what he’s thinking and I love that.

🎃 Stardust Frightingale 🎃 @ladystarfinch.bsky.social · 14h

So my favorite thing about the game is 100% the art- like the art is gorgeous!! The way the characters are drawn and move feels like I’m watching a paper puppet show which I feel really fits the story and atmosphere of the game.

🎃 Stardust Frightingale 🎃 @ladystarfinch.bsky.social · 14h

Alright. So I am on a break so I am going into more detail about my thoughts on the game. Because I did enjoy it and have replayed it several times so I can finish the tasks, and get the additional cutscenes. I plan on getting all the steam achievements as well. >:3

🎃 Stardust Frightingale 🎃 @ladystarfinch.bsky.social · 16h

I have almost all the tasks done. I just need to somehow get the third ending which is kind of difficult so far. I do recommend it if you want something quick and simple- it doesn’t take long to finish the game and it’s very story based. store.steampowered.com/app/3851680/...

The Doll Shop was released yesterday and I finished it last night. It was a simple story with horror and romance elements. I enjoyed it- though I felt like it could be more. It is the team’s first game so I’m not gonna tear it apart. The game was still fun and has tasks that makes it replayable.

Fun Fact: at one point, Hotel Transylvania was gonna be a Romeo and Juliet story where an early version of Johnny was actually from the Van Hellsing family- who have been monster hunters for decades. Only to fall in love with Mavis instead and the two try to bring peace between monsters and humans.

The image is of a four panel comic.
In panel one, we see a crow’s face. It says, “I AM DEATH’S MESSENGER”.
In panel two, we see the same crow’s face. It continues, “YOUR TIME IS NEAR”.
In panel four, we see the crow awkwardly hopping away from a stick figure.
In panel five, we see the grim reaper with the crow perched on his hand. The grim reaper says, “So you should probably fly away dramatically instead.”

I’m not saying I recommend the game because I’m still very early in it but so far, I am liking some of the things I see and I’m prepared in case the story becomes bad.
