iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Day 3 Since Davy put her hair down it only seems fair Koukla has to put it up.

a digital bust drawing of my own character Koukla. She has her hair done up with a braid and flowers.

Koukla lore:
Classified as a minor variant, with an ability to sense and manipulate waves of electronics to the point of accessing files and functions. Able to remotely extract and repair. Also, an accomplished medical researcher with several fields of expertise.
She actually is terrible at selfcare, she focuses a lot on her work and will neglect basic needs as she is focused. Davy helps keep her healthy both mentally and physically.

Raining all day and now torn. Do I take the extra free time and draw something more complex and elaborate for daily? Or do I keep it simple and take the extra time to get some long overdue gaming in. I have 3 switch2 games I haven't even opened yet...

Drove by the local plant nursery. Big sign for winter clearance. I promised myself I was just looking. I promised myself I wouldn't get anything pointless. This is an Arabica coffee plant. Guys... I don't even like/drink coffee. This is why I can't be left alone 🥲

A photo of my tabby cat Bygul who is sitting next to a coffee plant.
At least it was $10
The nursery is rad as heck, and I like the old couple who run it. They don't want to keep the shop open or heat over the winter, so the pre winter sales are legendary

Day 2 Davidii, but she let her hair down.

a digital half body drawing of my own character named Davidii. She has long pink hair and pink eyes.

Davidii lore:
She had an older sister named Mari. Though Mari had passed away 5 years ago. Her and her sister were both classified as high level variants, with access to special abilities tied to being able to pick up specific brainwave frequences others and herself give off.
She ties that into her style of combat which is more defensive and focuses on minimizing damage.
She is a lot more caring and gentle towards others and has always looked out for everyone's best interest.

It's daily drawing time! Hope everyone is ready for mediocre doodle spam! Now, I will be doing this differently this year since I will be traveling in 12 days. Until then, expect digital, then I will shift to traditional. Timezones and spotty service may create a day missed or double drawing day.

Side by side old autumn art vs new autumn art. Background feels more interesting in the old art, but not going to let it ruin how I am perfectly happy with the new. I guess you can just be happy for yourself and your art even if you haven't improved much!

a digital drawing of my character Yarrow who is sitting on some large river rocks as a fast-moving stream flows through a birch forest in fall

a digital drawing of my characters Yarrow and Wist with a fall background. Please check alt text on the original post for a better description I am very tired and cannot remember how I explained it.

Instead, I will tell you how my cat is holding me prisoner right now in my bed by sitting right on my lap and I cannot leave but I want to get water.

It's almost time for fall colors, so art of the brothers getting to see as well.

A full digital artwork of my own characters, Yarrow on the left and Wist on the right standing on a ruined road as in the distance there is a field of orange and yellow colors. Some wildflowers growing right behind them both and a few trees framing each side.

Maggie OC lore time:
Their story takes place in a semi ruined world. There was an apocalyptic event that had devastated a giant chunk of their country very long ago. Millions had died, and the epicenter has since been a barren wasteland. Until recently, were cautiously, humanity has discovered life has claimed that world back, and it's spreading from the epicenter. Koukla and Davidii had been hired by the government as one of several teams to enter the danger zone and research for several years what is going on and what can explain the sudden return of life to the once stripped areas.
It is here they find their goblin sons. They leave their findings out of reports as they try to understand just what exactly the two are.

So that is why whenever I do a background art, there is usually ruined roads or buildings about.

I was looking for something else when I found this silly practice I did a few months back. I swapped Yarrow and Wist's color palettes on already finished renders. It was actually mega fun, and I would recommend trying it if you want a simple and silly drawing experiment.

A digital full body drawing of my original characters Wist on the left and Yarrow on the right.

Wist has had the colors swapped to Yarrow's palette while Yarrow has Wist's colors. I think it works for Wist, but Yarrow can't pull off the purple as well as Wist can.

I am not kidding when I tell you this was really fun to work out since the designs are pretty different the colors really help make the look, so I had to try a few different colors in places before coming to these. Like the red heart on Yarrow's chest piece is the color of Wist's boot bottoms

The top to the shooting star dress This has been a very fun distraction from my other artwork

a digital half body drawing of the character Rosalina from the super mario franchise. She is standing with her head slightly tilted and her eyes closed, her hands positioned behind her back.

She is wearing an original dress that I had designed using her Aurora dress as a base.
While I like the back shot artwork way more than this, it is nice to work out the full design idea!
Not going to lie though? I did get very lazy towards the end since I have a lot of other art to work on, and I should NOT be drawing Rosalina even though I want to XD

(WIP please don't repost) I was trying to get this done before October, but I don't know if that is going to happen now. Guess I'll aim before leaving for a month. Though will be hard with daily drawings going on at the same time.

A work in progress drawing of my characters Yarrow and Wist

some more hidden oc lore
Wist is actually extremely brilliant, and very clever in terms of problem solving. However, he is very confused on how it is possible for Yarrow to be so different from him. It does not take him long to figure out why his uncle Khelna is extremely bothered by him, and furious towards his appearance.

This goes always when I post a WIP drawing. I like feedback on stuff. Even if you don't think it means much, it does. I'd rather have you explain it to me and try to learn why that feels off to you, than not know and make the same mistakes over and over.

I have a really pretty drawing idea I want to make but my health is standing in my way. Now I have to decide if I should try and draw it anyway and risk getting discouraged because not well enough to draw properly or save the idea for when I feel better and risk losing motivation for it...

When you accidentally change the camera to selfie mode

A photo of Bygul, my chunky classic tabby cat.
He's actually sleeping kind of next to me right now. It's ridiculously hot but he don't care. I'm just trying to read and his fat cat butt is taking up 70% of space and my tush has long fallen asleep, I want to get a snack but we all know the law, I can't disrupt the sleeping cat.
So I post his goblin selfie to shame him to move

I've realized I've been doing this lately. in the art post I keep things short and simple, but I just go off in alt text about one thing or another... I still try my best to explain the image beforehand, but I am sorry if this is a misuse of this feature.

a two image combination. The first image on the left reads 'me in the art post' while there is a vs in the center, and the second image reads me in the alt. text.
On the left side is art of my character Yarrow, but he is looking simple and pleasant, while on the right it is Yarrow but he's more monstrous looking.
It's to symbolize how I have been hiding things like my feelings for the art, or how I feel about a media in the alt text as a sneaky way of putting it out there in a way no one else would see.
I also hide character lore in the alt text.

but I guess now that I have brought it to attention, maybe it isn't so sneaky anymore.
I am just concerned I am misusing a tool that is meant for something else.

(Work in progress, please don't repost) Can't wait to see how this looks in 5 years when I actually finish it...

a digital sketch draft work in progress artwork of my own characters Yarrow and Wist
I am such a bad creator, I always favor Yarrow over Wist in art because Yarrow is a lot more dynamic and fun to draw from his stupid hair to his stupid scarf and even his stupid pants.
Wist is a safer kind of character and design, so unless going crazy I just don't have as much fun with him. I wanted him to be front and center for this brother art.
Also I am going to be missing fall and the colors this year, so will make this very fall themed art with colors.
Still might move Yarrow around a bit. I'm not putting the effort into sketching good feet unless I know the feet will be seen

Also, you may have noticed I have been drawing the brothers A LOT lately. I may be making really good progress on their project and it's putting me in a very inspired mood to draw them.

Going to be honest here folks
While me and this friend watched the HELL out of this anime every weekend when we were young kids, I hardly remember it now. But I do remember absolutely loving it to death.
Jupiter and Mercury were my two favorites, and I shipped them so hard.

oh shoot I completely forgot that daily drawings are starting next month...but, uh- I am going to be out of the country for half of October. Maybe I'll just do traditional for the whole month, keeping it simple enough to complete while traveling? Or would that be annoying to sift through?

Just some cute, totally innocent, not at all problematic lil guys

a digital chibi artwork of my own characters Yarrow and Wist.
Yarrow is on the left side, while Wist is on the right

Sadly, I have deceived you all, they are indeed problematic and at times not very innocent little guys -_- I am sorry
It's not that they are on purpose though. They just really don't understand life right now. Well, no, Wist has some kind of idea(for some reason) but it's more of a vague idea on how things are, and not really detailed, so when he tries to explain it to Yarrow, it's usually an abstract concept of an idea he only vaguely understands, and Yarrow and abstract concepts do not mix.
They get better when they can actually communicate with their adopted family though.
