I am going to leave this little guy. Hopefully it spreads it’s mycelium and they come back again.

Small fan like mushroom, brownish on weedy grass.

Ladybug @ladybug4231.bsky.social · 07/10/2025

An old friend is back. I really missed these growing in my yard. Now, you may find this strange but I prayed that they would come back, it’s been years. We haven’t had much rain so I know that this is my little or should I say huge miracle lol.

Grass, leaves and a huge Maitake mushroom.

Good morning, could you help me solve a mystery? My son is not big on words. I sent him a message last night and he replied at 12:am my time saying, “I am in the woods.” Now the sky is bright there so I am thinking somewhere in Asia? He loves Thailand and China.

Huge tree trunk up front and very thin trees all around with specks of a sunlit sky peeking through.

That’s interesting, I like paths myself. Distinctive paths that possibly go nowhere lol.

I skip one day at the plot and look at that crazy Okra.

Inside bag of green and yellow and red tomatoes and a giant okra.

I just have to share the plot behind me. He is such a perfectionist. Have you ever seen Kale like that?

Garden with orange marigolds, tall colorful Zinnias and Kale without one spot, it’s perfect and huge!

Food like this makes me want to be a vegetarian again. The last of my homegrown eggplant in a Tikka Masala sauce.

Eggplant in brownish red sauce on a white plate with cilantro on top.

This came out so tender. I usually don’t make chicken breast because I always dry it out but not this time. Sautéed okra from the garden on top. I had to buy this chicken, it was such an amazing deal, I think the butcher made a boo boo.

Chicken breast seared with sautéed okra on top.

So I think I have lost 5 pounds worrying this week 😳. Yes, that’s my daughter 150 ft above ground traveling to another mountain peak.

Very strange, most of my Okra plants are deader than dead and still producing.

Thinking about my crazy but sweet and kind child. This was a few months ago, now she is doing this in Spain for her first anniversary. Mom is afraid of heights, guess that’s not genetic 😆.

A rocky cliff with a yellow rope connecting to a climber with a blue helmet. Behind her is water and rolling green hills with trees and grass.

Got inspired to make a concoction with my homegrown veggies. Then decided to dirty it up with the black bean soup I made. Food for the week since it will be just me.

Colorful array of garden vegetables including green peppers, okra, yellow and red tomatoes, green beans, onions and garlic is in there somewhere.

Added black bean soup to my concoction and lots of cilantro on top.

Had to use up around 50+ Lunchbox tomatoes that weren’t perfect enough for donating so I decided to make a homemade spaghetti sauce with them. It smells good in here.

I just finished this book and let me tell you, it was eye opening and inspirational! If you buy this book, much of the money goes towards helping her mission called, “All Girls Allowed.”

A Chinese woman’s face at the top in black and white then the words, “A Heart for Freedom “ by Chai Ling. The bottom half is red with military tanks.

Another haul tonight. I am picking some tomatoes while still green because they are getting weird outside. The yellow tomatoes are not mine. The plot next to mine abandoned his plot and these yellow tomatoes are knocking over my trellis and growing on my side. That’s okay right?

Yoda’s birthday cake. I made extra but I doubt anyone else will have any 😂. Cooked chicken livers, broccoli and quinoa.

Tried making refrigerator pickles for the first time. I didn’t have pickling cukes so I just used things from my garden. I didn’t like okra this way because it oozed but my hot peppers taste great this way.

I picked a ton of okra and tomatoes yesterday that I had to give some away. This is what I have left over. I pick the okra when it is extra long and steam it a bit to bring it back to tenderness.

An old friend of mine shared this Iranian breakfast recipe with me. I changed it by adding the cheese and bagel. It’s absolutely delicious. He said that when he was a kid growing up in Iran, his Mom could wear a bathing suit to the beach. It’s amazing how some radicals can change so much.

Looks like cheese over sauce with an everything bagel.

Finally found my beans at the plot. These are asparagus beans.

Green beans on a white speckled counter. They are very long 1-2 feet each.

I finally got 1 asparagus bean lol. My new favorite cookbook to show the size.

I won the eggplant battle lol. I had some die at the plot. I brought one home to grow in a bucket and I am finally getting eggplant. It is so delicious, I will definitely grow these again.

Lol, it’s lunchtime here for me. They all sound great. So this dish is pretty easy. Ditalini, chickpeas that I did in the instant pot because I like them soft and it’s cheaper, sauce, basil, chili oil, salt and this awesome cheese that I think tastes better than real Parmesan.

110

Ladybug @ladybug4231.bsky.social · 18/08/2025

That sounds good. I would probably make the same thing pretty much but my lunch today was pretty cheap too so maybe I could do this as well. The most expensive part was the vegan cheese.

Sunday at 3am, this happened. No storm just a random tree from another yard. I have seen too many trees do this in my lifetime. Kind of gives you an uncomfortable feeling driving or walking in the woods.

Treed area with a huge branch atop a shed that has been busted by the pressure. Shed is beige, door is off exposing interior.
