One of my fav things to do when I go is make a trip to the Brooklyn Bridge Pier Park. You can see the entire NYC skyline (Empire State, Chrysler, Statue of Lib., etc) - all for free. During the day there’s tons of you can do at the park and many restaurants within walkable distance.
