Laszlo @ladeak.net · 16/09/2026As a user, do you see new features all over in apps? Do you see new cool apps? No, it is all one of tools or pointless small features. All I see is unstable services, avg to poor quality, throw away stuff. 000
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 07/09/2026#dotnet and #csharp, is this term accepted and used: "var obsession"? 000
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 01/09/20262/2 - they usually don't (because they don't use the app). Make the business unit paying for the current feature happy and nothing else matters. Of course this drives a hate towards AI, because all the unrecognized engineering put into the product by the team will be suppressed by "go faster use AI" 000
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 01/09/20261/2 This discusses if people like (or hate) AI based on the autonomy they have at work. Also if mgmt tells them to use AI or not. I think there is a more relevant aspect: what is the expectation for the product from mgmt? Do they care performance or quality or maintainabilty? 100
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 01/09/2026It would enable all those languages on the first image to work in the web. So have a rust backend dev and wasm allows the dev to write frontend features, basically becoming fullstack. 010
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 22/08/2026Optimist: The cup is half full Pessimist: The cup is half empt Software Engineer: the cup was vibe coded 000
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 20/08/2026Is #Spotify just getting worse and worse? It randomly stops streaming. 000
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 13/08/2026I like that ORMs give some sort of a (type) safety when writing the queries, and syntax highlight and intellisense. Most cases I would need to start fiddling with performance, I would also start needing it in the SQL too. That said I always end up using a couple raw sql statements in most projects. 100
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 07/08/2026@gregsdennis.bsky.social do you know if I OSMF license if a library is using a library l, then does it pass on the fee transitivly or the direct consumption matters? 100
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 24/07/2026This reminds me all the HTTP/1.1 to HTTP/2 request smuggling vulnerabilities 010
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 14/07/2026When developers move projects quickly they don't face with the quality and maintainabilty issues of their code, and they stuck at a level without improving. 000
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 12/07/2026Isn't it because direct opposite of yolo-vibe code an app, and let's see whatever comes out of it?! 000
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 06/07/2026In .NET one disadvantage advantage of XML is the serializer is not as efficient as the JSON one. 200
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 06/07/2026I would not call JSON "worse" as the title suggests, but rather "simpler" - as long as none of the shortcomings mentioned are needed. I think it is a shame that I have not seen xml in new code for a while, hut I have seen people struggling through missing JSON features. 100
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 05/06/2026Or the .NET runtime optimizations recently, where generic code can become platform specific (ie. tied to the numberof CPUs or instruction sets) 020
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 04/06/2026The most comprehensive video from #build2026 on .NET: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zAY...youtube.com.NET 11 in depth: Runtime, libraries, and SDK for the AI eraYouTube video by dotnet 000
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 31/05/2026Let me put it this way: "code that fits in my head" is valuable because that is code that I can review, and code that also fits I the context of an LLM. 000
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 31/05/2026... compared to the dump of AI related content that flows from all other channels. 100
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 31/05/2026I think anything that communicates good development practices and discipline is valuable content, that I am always much happier to read in the dump of AI related content. 320
Laszlo @ladeak.net · 29/05/2026I think software where quality matters will require engineering thinking as before. I hear more and more people voicing this. At the same time I think a new wave or layer of software will emerge where the code is known to be thrown away in a short time frame, will remain AI. 110
