This is what thousands of tons of salt being delivered to the La Crosse County Highway Shop looks like as we prepare for winter. The County ordered 9,000 tons of salt for the county system and local municipalities. The salt will be used to make brine to apply to our roads and keep drivers safe.

We had some excitement at Veterans Memorial Park in West Salem on Tuesday! A great horned owl fell from a tree, and thanks to our parks crew, the Sheriff's Office, and Coulee Region Humane Society Wildlife Rehab, it was taken in for a checkup. They report he’s eating and doing very well.
