“I’ve always toed the party line,” says Penny Mordaunt, defending her willingness to u-turn on previously-held positions. Reminds me of the old quote - “Here are my principles. If you don’t like them, I have others.” #bbclaurak

The speculation would happen no matter what he did. He can’t announce a fully-fledged policy straightaway so there’s always going to be scope (and willingness) to speculate. I’d have more respect for a PM who ignored the cesspit of X. Disclaimer: I do not vote Labour

Sally Nugent working from the Laura Kuenssberg interviewing manual, trying to get the ‘gotcha’ moment from Lucy Powell. What’s the point? Does she seriously expect LP to announce that the triple lock will disappear on a TV interview? #bbcbreakfast

Of course, because they think people are poor because they’re feckless and have made poor choices. Some may well have, but the Tories ignore the complexities for many people in this country. Kemi Badenoch should be made to live on minimum wage for a year in a deprived area. Wonder how she’d cope?

Does #bbclaurak have an ounce of self-awareness? (rhetorical question) No-one knows about Lib Dem policies because Laura and her MSM colleagues prefer to platform a private company of grifters with a fraction of the MPs the LDs have. “Why aren’t the Lib Dems cutting through?” she asks. Get a mirror.

There was a TV programme a while back (Channel 4?) where some folk opposed to asylum seekers were taken to some of the countries people had fled, plus put on a dinghy to cross the channel. To a man/woman, it opened their eyes to reality. Perhaps the residents of Piddington could do the same?

What kind of country have we become when RNLI volunteers are being warned not to make it obvious that they’re part of the organisation? When a charity is forced to increase its security measures for fear of reprisals? The UK is on a dangerous path.
