Make stuff. For the love of all that there is, please just keep making stuff! Doesn't matter if it's bad, good etc. Just *keep* making stuff.

Now to take a month off and then DO IT ALL AGAIN IN NOVEMBER (I'll still be making art as inspiration strikes, you cannot contain me)

In July, I started a 90-day challenge. Not to "draw every day", but to engage, find inspiration, make art, and hopefully kick-start my brain into a creative mindset again. The goal was always art, but not burn myself out. Today was the last day! Looking back at what I've done, I'm pretty proud.

i stepped into an avalanche, it covered up my soul

a man with his back turned to the viewer, his head bowed, hesitates but is slowly being consumed by the blue that surrounds him.

a young woman, head upturned and eyes closed, is slowly being drawn into the electric green abyss around her.

Pixel art of a man with wings over the top part of his face. His arms are outstretched at his sides, and pieces of him are breaking/flaking off into golden strips. He has two pairs of wings, one lifting upwards, and the other curling downwards. The color palette is pale yellow, gray, and blue.

That’s true! I should do that, I kept pressing C and accidentally opening the Canvas resize window. 😩 The UI is taking some more getting used to. Took me forever to figure out how to move layers around, and turn their opacity up/down. Learning little by little…

Completed my first picture using Aseprite today! I'd been using CSP before now, which is great even if not really geared for pixel art. Aseprite is fantastic, definitely going to keep using it, but MAN I gotta get used to the new UI and hotkeys.

Pixel portrait of a pale woman with horns in place of her eyes, and an vertical eyeball in the fringe of her hair. Many hanging earrings adorn her pointed ears, and scales wrap around her neck. She gives a small smirk with red lips.

Part of the fun about art is figuring out what you like and don't like to create, and what works best for you. Like right now, the knight series I'm working on is a good challenge, and I'm enjoying it, but it doesn't tickle my brain as much as my previous ones. Which is good to know! It's ✨growth✨
