You are welcome It's technically a traditional art technique, when artist uses the eraser as just another pencil In a way it's painting technique I don't remember who, but someone said "practice drawing understand painting better, paint to understand drawing better" so it's still one and the same

Thanks! I would say that trick is drawing a messy shape with black and actually drawing by erasing it, darken it from the base of fur and erase as you draw hairs, repeat That creates sort of layered feel if done neatly You also should start shading from edges (creases and shape contour)
