5/One piece of advice for couples, new and established: find something and make it YOUR thing, together. It doesn't have to be a vacation, it could be an overnight stay in Poughkeepsie. What makes it special is that it's YOURS. And when you go, shut off the world - phones, kids, jobs, EVERYTHING.

4/In addition, we've been feeding the same (semi-) feral cat since 2022! Please don't take this as some kind of wannabe influencer brag. We squeeze nickels til the buffalo shits all year to make this week happen (and our lodging is significantly reduced, thanks to my boss), because it's our thing.

3/We stay on Mack Bayou, where you can see everything from pelicans sunning in the yard to dolphins carousing in the water, to the most beautiful sunsets ever (our wedding spot too). Honestly, my goal in life is to somehow make enough money to own a piece of it ourselves.

2/Summer is a different story. If St. Louis is Satan's armpit, you can guess what FL feels like (and if you're by the bay, kinda smells like). But October? Fam, it's highs in the low 80s, and lows in the 60s when mama and I are having our morning coffee. And the breeze from the ocean is Heaven.

1/Good morning BSky fam! Paying tribute this morning to my father-in-law Bill Loebig who passed away last Friday after a long battle with dementia. I tried to put into words who he was and BSky is just too constrained, so I'll just say I respected him tremendously and considered him a close friend.

1/A very close friend, Lynn McCarthy, passed away yesterday, on Father's Day. He'd been struggling with a lung infection and related problems and was in #STL for a procedure that didn't go well and ultimately his lungs just stopped working. Lynn was a good guy and someone I respect tremendously.

4/Near me, the town of St. Peters turned out in the rain to protest. In all, I feel the protests were a net positive for the message at large - no looting, and the Nat. Guard certainly wasn't needed. It's the type of thing that has the potential to reach the "silent majority" in their slumber.

I've never had it b4, so it didn't cross my mind. It explains everything - from the rashes to the bumps to why I kept getting new ones.

1/A tweet this afternoon got me thinking about carnival rides and my all-time favorites, the Zippers 1, 2, and 3. Original Zipper (pic) being the best. Z2 was a Ferris wheel with spinning cages, Z3 a roller coaster car on an enclosed circle that would stop upside down, but they can't beat Z1.
