As a native midwesterner whose Great Lakes regularly come up as a potential water source for the West, I'd love to see us do away with irrigated lawns and other waste first, then talk about something like this. But this would be a great solution for a place like El Centro/Imperial, CA!

people of all ages were hanging out or walking through. It was also a bit Disney-like in that the immediate surroundings were some of the most car-centric I've seen in France. Zero bike infrastructure, tons of parking in the public realm and loud cars everywhere.

We were in Egypt a couple of weeks ago and these toilets with the built-in bidet function were everywhere. It was really nice. You don't get the extra washing capability of the hose, but I imagine it's a much easier install.
