Just finished Zeta Gundam for the first time and I have two thoughts:
1. Very well may be the best Gundam series. Absolutely outstanding.
2. Had to stand outside in the fog/drizzle for a minute after and just let it sink in. Those last 10 or so episodes were brutal.
