I’m buying Ethan Strand, Gary Martin, and Liam Murphy 1500m stock this year - I’ve seen what I need to see

Track: Ease into it and aim for a negative split with a big close XC: Sprint as hard as you can for the first kilometer and slowly die

Coach Diljeet Taylor is really just so good at coaching and I’m convinced she must not have the same 24 hours in a day as the rest of us

Rooting for Chris Derrick today - hoping he can finally win this one!

I was forced to buy 500 of these but they’re good

Absolutely grinding in excel today planning the event schedule

What’s the bigger challenge for most: the training or race pattern?

One of the most overlooked prospects has to be Samuel Ogazi of Nigeria. In his freshman year at Alabama, in the 33rd race of the season! — he runs a PB to make the Olympic final.

It’s crazy how young and deep Botswana is at 400 meters

Wish we would have had reaction videos for when Racers learn who is joining their group…

Love that the World Champion is making her 1500 debut in Kingston! I can think of some other recent 800 meter runners that moved up in distance and thrived…

Daryll has been winning Olmypic and World medals since 2016 but is low key just getting started 💪🏾 Considering her consistency at both 100 and 200, don't be surprised if she wins a couple of the SLAMs in the short sprint group 👀

It’s also been very helpful in later conversations once athletes, coaches, and agents see who else is a part of the league. I will always give tremendous credit to Sydney and Josh to be the first ones to say that they are in.

It’s been an effective marketing strategy to have multiple touch points during the off season. But behind the scenes it’s a lot of work to get someone to commit before the first event. I have had MANY meetings explaining the concept, answering questions, and negotiating contracts.

Tomorrow feels like a good day to announce some more Racers… let’s add some new flags!

I mean that’s what eggs cost!

As someone who currently does this, I can’t reveal the secret!

And paying Parker reinforces that image for the next generation who will see her at New Balance Nationals, in commercials, or in earned media for her running. The fact that we are still talking about her sponsorship probably gives a PR team enough ammo to say she’s paid for herself already.

Companies don’t expect a direct ROI from sponsoring athletes but they are a piece of the puzzle. In the example of NB, they have invested MILLIONS (maybe a billion) this past decade rebranding themselves as a hip and “cool” shoe. That will pay dividends over the course of every 15 yr old’s LTV.

Right now in college dorms across America there are teammates debating whether or not they should get in their car to drive across the country to cheer on their friends at NCAAs — do it!

I saw someone wearing a 2019 Long Island Mile shirt on a run this week

Buried the lede here… Daniel Mateiko and Sebastian Sawe debuts!!! If you watched the rabbiting job for Kiptum’s WR or the smoothest half at the World Road Running champs and thought, “those guys look like they could have kept going,” well now we’ll find out.

You may call it rewatching old races on YouTube but I call it doing research ✍️

Perhaps… maybe circumstances changed. But it’s definitely an easier sell when there have been 32 athletes announced. The Racer Summit and solidified venues/dates also helped. It was a welcome call!
