I saw someone describe Fortnite as the Funko Pops of video games, and that's so appropriate. You see something you recognize, get that little buzz in your brain, maybe look at it for a bit, then move on without spending a dime. The game itself is just pointless window dressing at this point.

Honestly, that's probably the best way I'd describe it. I see something I recognize, I think "Oh, cool", and then I don't buy it. The crossovers are so plentiful at this point that the actual game feels like pointless window dressing.

This really does give off the feeling of what the game would have looked like if they had modern technology back then. It has a very 80s fantasy vibe akin to something like Labyrinth or The Dark Crystal, which is perfect for this series.

In a pleasant surprise, it seems like the event was relatively free of controversy. I haven't seen many people making a stink of anything shown. The most I saw was grown adults whining about Bluey being 3D, but... that's more funny than anything.

Speaking as someone who follows a lot of animated movies, I can't recall many recent movies that tried to use their leading actor as a major selling point. The most noteworthy one I can think of is Alec Baldwin in The Boss Baby, and that's not exactly a high bar of quality.

I think it's really telling that they haven't put the Disney branding anywhere on it. It's obvious that this a partnership Bob Iger agreed to when he was in charge, and now they're just kinda stuck with it. So they gave it no fanfare with the intent to let it go up in smoke.

I'm just gonna say it. Bonnie is a more interesting character than Andy. Andy served his purpose, but Bonnie has a more defined personality, and especially in 5, her relationship with her toys is a bigger driving force to the story. It's like they took some cues from Inside Out, which I love.
