I'm well past my days of loving all manga and anime. I am critical of many, and have experience writing myself, so when I say this one is perfect or near perfect, it's with some maturity and experience.

Added! I looked to see if the Android source was available because I could probably implement this myself and do a PR, but alas! :D I might write a proof of concept browser extension that does this and share it with you. Since I sub to presses' emails, I often want to add books this way.

Any chance this new non profit has ties with the existing Camp Mystic people? Seems like an easy way to transfer the land while avoiding the lawsuits.

@hardcover.app a pretty cool feature would be to share to Hardcover on mobile. Like if I have the University of Chicago press website open to a book and share, hardcover could look through the page for an ISBN or other indicator of the book and load it up in the app. I get emails from various...

Be sure to use Al when making your next, I don't know, meal plan, for example. Definitely do not call your friend who loves to cook and ask her for her favorite recipes or tips or ways to save time making meals, because you will end
up talking for longer than you had hoped, hearing, perhaps, about her father's cancer diagnosis or how lonely she's been or even what she's planted in her spring garden and then lost with the early frost.

The fallout from the collapse of this glacier - a torrent of mud surging down the valley - killed hundreds of people. Gone, in a flash. Those people were wiped out by anthropogenic climate change. Our governments are simply not responding quickly enough to this disaster which is already upon us.

This morning, the Coldstream Guards at Buckingham Palace performed a tribute to Dolly Parton. The last time I remember the guards at the palace honoring the memory of an American entertainer was when they paid tribute to Aretha Franklin after she passed away.

Good luck. It's been hard finding books my 9yo would enjoy so that it doesn't feel like a chore. My 6yo will read short books, but when we picked up a chapter book for her beyond her grade level, it made her less enthusiastic. Pretty disappointed at my 1yo for refusing to do her summer reading.

I'm sure you can understand the confusion at you saying Canada is perfectly OK with America becoming a Trump dictatorship because it isn't your problem. Since it does seem like you aren't OK with it.

Because the risk/reward is very low versus waiting until november when the elections happen. Odds of violent overthrow are 0 versus the strongest military in history. If you want Trump deposed, you'll need a well-capitalized military from another country to intervene.

One of those performers who will be remembered differently by different generations. For me, he's forever Herkermer Homolka. But might as well be Cardinal Richelieu, or Dr. Petrov. This man was an actor's actor with incredible screen credits for days. Oh would he were able to perform forever.

For example, if you're talking about Doberman this, Doberman that, and then you want to describe dogs without the qualifier, you might say "dogs in general" or..."a typical dog."
000
Kyle Götz @kylegoetz.com · 26/08/2026
I think this is the wrong tree to bark up. To me, "typical rape" means "rape without any adjectival qualifier." I.e., "rape." It's just that, linguistically, talking about a specific category of rape and then using "rape" without "typical" is poor English. "in general" probably better than "typical"

That's not what this drug does. It just relaxes blood vessels. It's like how algebra doesn't make you an astrophysicist. It just is a necessary step in the process.

Exactly. "Pulmonary hypertension drug might correlate with longer lives in men" isn't surprising.

Kyle Götz @kylegoetz.com · 22/08/2026
That's not how tadalafil works, though. It doesn't give you a hard-on. It just relaxes blood vessels, which is why it's also used to treat pulmonary hypertension. It enables you to get an erection if you're aroused and otherwise wouldn't be able to get a one.

Thank you. I am growing increasingly frustrated, as a writer, with people suggesting AI is making writing accessible to people who otherwise couldn't make it. It's tremendously disrespectful.

Bitter pill to swallow, that there is a difference in quality between "I self-published a book on Amazon" and "I asked a computer to write a book and then I slapped my name on it DEMOCRACY." I would be ashamed to make that argument. #booksky

One isn't an artist if the work is created by prompts. AI made it, and there is no such thing as AI art. There are AI pictures, AI books, AI sounds, but non of it rises to the level of creativity, and the result is certainly not attributable to the prompt engineer who thinks themselves creative.

Kyle Götz @kylegoetz.com · 18/08/2026
3. AI democratizes art the same way ChatGPT telling you the answer to your homework "democratizes" learning. nothing is stopping you from learning to write except different priorities in your life. Using AI isn't "democratizing" your access to learning how to write.

Kyle Götz @kylegoetz.com · 18/08/2026
2. AI "art" is built on the backs of /stealing/ from other artists.

Kyle Götz @kylegoetz.com · 18/08/2026
1. Disabled artists have written about how deeply offensive it is to say "AI enables the disabled to create art" because they are already creating art. (cont'd)

Kyle Götz @kylegoetz.com · 18/08/2026
Oh, to be clear, when I wrote "art" I meant creative works (writing, music, visual art, etc.). And no, AI doesn't democratize art. People who create art train hard. They aren't born that way.

(not me looking for every opportunity to hate on AI as the "artist")

Are you drawing an analogy to AI "art" to imply that AI-written texts democratize the craft, or am I reading too much into this?

Minions & Monsters might be the worst movie I've ever seen. Weird pacing, an endless sequence of fell-flat gags, and no one to empathize with. Also Minionese is weirdly just Spanish now? I realize I'm not the target audience but it's REALLY bad. My kids liked it but holy moly #moviesky

This description sounds like they're misattributing to adult professionals the behavior of children who think people aren't going to read their fanfiction if they use an em dash. I see it all the time in the fandom I write for. If you're an adult, you should've grown out of those fears already.

This is such a deeply weird take. It is not countercultural to conform to the inverse of a villain. A countercultural response is to keep doing your own thing. Changing your writing style to avoid being labeled AI makes you a conformist sheep, not a countercultural figure. Contemptible. #booksky

Favorite thing about #Quebec right now is discovering "foulet" on the menu, which I've gleaned from context is "faux poulet" or fake chicken. Is this a Quebec-only pun? I already like these people.
