A bumpout at Vernor Highway will shorten the crosswalk into Patton Park and encourage drivers to slow down.

Updates for Elsmere will also encourage lower speeds for drivers and increased safety for pedestrians, with more stop signs and narrower roads.

At Mandale and Woodmere, a long bumpout will narrow the roadway and encourage drivers to slow down. A changed angle of the intersection between the two streets will also increase visibility for drivers.

The intersections with Olivet Street and Lafayette Blvd will be raised, forcing drivers to slow down. Curb bumpouts will help pedestrians by shortening crosswalks. Green stormwater infrastructure and street trees will also be installed here.

The JLG team plans to standardize the Woodmere-Fort intersection by closing off the current diagonal entrance to Woodmere Cemetery, building a new driveway into the cemetery, and adding curb bumpouts on Woodmere.

The JLG team proposes to move the curb on Woodmere to create a shared-use path along Woodmere Cemetery, to improve street and pedestrian lighting, and to install green stormwater management infrastructure, among other things.

Residents also had concerns about parking on Woodmere Street. 71% of respondents to a community survey on parking configurations prefer the JLG team's proposed plan.
