Even my own posts cause it, if I'm being honest as I scroll through them. Do you know how much reading and writing I've gotten done without inflicting this on myself and others?

Criticizing the "liquefy trans orphans to fuel the Hell Nexus" Democrat is why the "liquefy all orphans to fuel the Hell Nexus" Republican will win. Don't you care about normal orphans, or that the Democrats speak against anti-trans legislation when it polls well

And you're just as likely to find someone who really, really hates your favorite show and won't shut up about it so you can enjoy it. Can't talk Stargate without someone screaming about the military, as though having complicated views on media is some violation of an invisible contract.

I'm falling out with TV in general due to streaming tendencies. Shows have 10 episodes and 2 years between seasons if they get a second at all, and you know it won't get a third. I got on the internet early, so I grew up with the shared experience of talking about shows and it's mostly missing now.

Lanterns is exactly my kind of show, but: 1: it's never going to develop a fandom (see: kyefox.com/revisiting-t...) 2: HBO. Giving money to Rowling is poison to me. Giving attention to media that indirectly supports her mission by supporting the platform is also not good.

On the one hand, SV-speak has trained me to read acquisitions as an end of good stuff. On the other, if this ATProto experiment really is something different, we need to be willing to consider that old patterns don't hold and expect something better. I like the optimistic track.
