Well this is depressing. The gradual enshitification of the Internet srikes home. I have only just now learned that browsers plan to deprecate client-side XSLT stylesheets. Every last one of my dozens of web pages depend wholly on an XSLT stylesheet. ky8d.net/free starling.us/free

Flock cameras see infrared. Their lenses have IR filters which block visible light. They use IR LEDs for nighttime illumination. The idea to use blue or green lasers is likely misinformation from the Flock company itself. A 1000mW red laser might do damage, as IR filters don't have steep skirts.

FYI: Flock cameras see infrared. Their lenses have IR filters which block visible light. A major clue in this regard is their use of IR LEDs for illumination. A 1000mW red laser might do damage, this insofar as IR filters generally don't have steep band-edge skirts.

I hardly ever feel truly old except while recalling that I once spent six hours searching out by eyeball the solitary lower case L (in place of numeral 1) in a Fortran program printed out on twenty feet of tractor feed green bar paper.

In driving past your local data center, are distant AM radio stations interfered with by static from its huge bank of power inverters? Be sure to complain in writing to the FCC about the illegal interference with said duly licensed AM broadcasting station (with CC to the station itself).

For having added hearing impairment on top of nearsightedness, am I now also a four-ears in addition to a four-eyes?

Let everyone now claim 8 June 1949 as their birthdate! This in response to government mandated age verification, clearly the narrow end of a very long wedge. A fascist first strike against online annonymity. Why 8 June 1949? That's the publication date of Orwell's prophetic novel 1984.

Wifey is pricing out a potential return side jaunt back to Saint Helena Island during our definitely scheduled return visit to South Africa. As I still have plenty QSL cards for ZD7KYD left over from last year, that'll make for one less expense.

Well, hm... Seems I failed to mention the period averaged from 1981 until 2026, 42 years. But I was QRT between 1989 and 2014, so let me adjust that down to a mere 20 years. Hardly a full time job.

Ham radio benchmark this date (as KY8D only, exclusive of my 5 other callsigns): 3200 contacts! Those calculating out to 1473.9 hours total, an average duration of 27.6 minutes each. All got in Morse code. All from regular, old fashioned conversations, none during contests. Pats self on back...

'Christian Values' from the Book of Numbers, chapter 31, verses 17 & 18 (KJV). "Now therefor kill every male among the little ones, and kill every women that hath known a man by lying with him. But the women-children who hath not known a man by lying with him, these you may keep for yourselves."

Cone's Law states... Time spent reporting leaves less time for actual work. Government over-reach is where nothing gets done because those few left working are too busy documenting in triplicate all of the nothing which they have no time left to be doing. #republicans #doge #musk #trump

None can be happier than Putin right now over Trump's ending the USA's only non-military power of influence over foreign affairs. What 'foreign aid' did was mimic the ploy exampled by Christian missionaries abroad. Fake generosity in return for an unspoken expectation. #trump #foreignaid

Me lashing my Spiderpole to the upper deck railing for a three-night stay in Lambert's Bay, South Africa. Operating here as ZS1KYD. The antenna itself is 7-strand copper, deep sea fishing line strung from out of a casting reel. Tuned for all bands via an LGD RT-100. #hamradio #antenas #morsecode

Hilarious that all over the US reactionary a-holes must now contemplate showing their loyalty by the purchase of a new-fangled, eco-friendly, ELECTRIC car. Maybe Trump can pursuade Musk into produving a coal fired model?

The 30CW Group promotes RSN in preference to RST for its being more informative to the recipient. That with RSNT as an option. The T coming last since there have long existed letter qualifiers ammending a T<9, such as C for 'chirp', D for 'drift', etc. #CW #MorseCode #HamRadio
