My work is laying people off. I got put on unpaid leave, told to collect unemployment. I keep insurance. I went to the employment department to help me find work. Even had an appointment. Sat down. The guy told me to just move to a different state or collect unemployment. There are no jobs here.

I worked as a dispatcher and we were critically understaffed the entire time. Air Traffic Controllers are doing that on a scale that will continue to result in preventable deaths. People can't do this work without enough time off for the brain to recover. Intersection of biology, economy, & policy

"Establishment union" is a political power. They often decide if candidates get endorsed. They don't hear rank and file wants. They endorse who they think is "viable" based on who's raised the most. But I met one high-up who was shocked to find out I was a DSA member. And then his union endorsed. 😜

Oregon is trying to legislate requiring #alpr vendors to use end-to-end encryption, but they took the definition of #e2ee out of the bill. How do you plan on enforcing that? Corporations have been trying for years to say that encryption at rest plus encryption in transit is the same as e2ee. Lies.
