People think that you need 'someone' to be your antagonist. What about something? or an atmosphere? What if it's so vast that you can't comprehend it... and there you are against the inevitable, no matter how it may be interpreted or perceived.

Tuesday's Hot Take: Write the book you'd want to read, to the best of your abilities. Forget all that other bullshit and drama.

Without light, there is only darkness. With all consuming light, there is no darkness. It isn't until we perceive this that the contrast is made clear. In that polar opposition being observed, we understand balance in all things. Too much of either and one will over take the other.

Would you like to read an epic fantasy saga that's about the start of an oppressive King's overreach and rebellion? The Eldritch Knight shows the beginning, lives growing up in it, and choosing to do something about it. 💙📚 🧵

Writing is a process, much like drawing. You sketch out the basic outline: Placement, rough idea of where things are, etc. Following the basic techniques that you were taught, but then tweak it to your stylistic preference.

The Eldritch Knight isn’t just a DnD-inspired fantasy story, though it can be simplified that way on the surface. And it's those themes that make it enjoyable and appealing. 🧵 1/4

I want to take a moment to reflect and remind everyone that this weekend is for remembering the fallen. Those service men and women that never made it home and gave the ultimate sacrifice. This weekend is to honor them.

I want you to imagine... Take a break from reality and dive into your imagination for an escape. It only takes a few minutes, or several hours, depending on how much time you can afford. The effect is refreshing. #BookSky

would you read the start of an episodic novella series, set in a fantasy world? Think: Tales from the Crypt, but in a Curiosities Shop, the items are alive, each with a story to tell eventually and the shopkeeper is the narrator... Also, there's a cosmic metaphysical library.

Where's all the Epic Fantasy readers that might enjoy a world inspired by old school DnD? That enjoy an immersive prose and character-driven arcs? Rothfuss + Tolkien + Salvatore + Lovecraft

Have you read an indie book lately? Did you leave a review for it? Most people don't, and it's perfectly fine if you didn't. Reviews are for other readers, after all.

Once upon a time, there was an author who wanted nothing more than to write stories for people to read. They wrote the most wonderful stories, with care and hope, and set them loose upon the world.
