Il y a des matins où on pense à son prochain rendez-vous d'oncologie plutôt qu'à son café. Aujourd'hui : 4 rendez-vous. Suivi, scan, radiothérapie, chimio. La recherche a doublé mon espérance de vie — énorme. Mais ça veut dire des traitements continuels, pour toujours allonger le fil. 2/4

I might have had an adult tantrum after the kids went to bed last night, and I got home at 10 pm from the CT cancellation. There might have also been lots of f-bombs, the UCP, and DS all in one sentence between tears of anger and fear. Sometimes my sweet me makes way for emotions to boil over. 😔

Thankfully the taxi driver drove by when he did. The outcome could have been much different. To this day, I walk with my keychain in hand, fist closed and keys between each of my fingers, near my knucles when I am forced to go through a poorly lit area.

I hoped this was fiction. Didn’t know those scary stats! My “force field” was a taxi driver—#HeForShe saw a man pin me against a dark underpass wall walking home from work at 17. He scared him off, drove me to the police, & gave a statement. Glad you reassured her the way she needed in that moment.

Agreed. I’m in Radium Hot Springs, BC (pop ~900), so there is no doc. No docs or walk-in options at all, and pharmacists don’t look at throats, so was forced to ER. Script seems to be working. I’m feeling better already. :)

Of course I get a throat (possibly strep… TBC in a few days) and ear infection the day after I get my teeth cleaned. Now on vacation in rural BC where there are no docs, I’ve spent 3+ hours in ER. I’m getting enough antibiotics to make it through to tomorrow, and then will get my script filled.

Looking for inexpensive💡!!! And ideally free activities to do on Canada Day with my 9- and 12-year old kiddos. I have terminal cancer, so something that does it have me is low-to-moderate intensity for a few hours at most, or lower intensity for 3-4 hours work. Thanks in advance!

Emailed my MLA re: that + RAT tests for low-income/immunocompromised. He forwarded it to Min. LaGrange. She said “no”. Offered no alternative for masks & said I can request free PCR instead. Useless when I need quick results for kids returning from their dad's and I have cancer treatment for life. 😞

Second time, I truly don’t know how I caught it. Sadly, my PE (anticoagulantd?) disqualified me from Paxlovid, so I needed Remdesivir. I don’t recommend getting COVID. It sucks. But, in the 6 years since masking became a thing in Canada, those are the only 2 times I got sick. I’m good with that!

Exactly. I tried a bunch out during COVID. I bought “variety packs” to try different ones I to see which ones I liked best. And other than getting sick twice. Once was bc I forget to bring a mask to an outdoor concert… but bathrooms were indoors. 😤 During COVID. I needed Paxlovid to fight it.

I was about that age when my 1 year younger brother spotted a "danceuses nues" sign as our mom drove past it on our way to school. He asked why women dance naked. I wisely reassured him no men were allowed in. 😂 Mom was relieved she didn't have to answer!
