i always thought a proper daoc sequel with modern tech would be the game you had waited your whole career to create given how similiar ESO ended up in terms of RvR and other systems like open dungeons etc. I know its a bad time for MMORPGs but you should really go for another shot.👍😄

i would compare it more to overwatch x sea of thieves in space with some kind of extraction features. i dont think this game gets a stable following and playerbase with what they are asking. Theres just too many similiar games that are f2p or 15 bucks. Its not a bad game. Really had fun during beta.

dunno about the best but the worst goes to new world. Game had a clear vision and goal, game director changed and the game went fully downhill. Talking about starting as a sandbox, with survival elements and social dynamics to the frankenstein it is now.

as i said. the launch version had a lot of issues. i never bothered to play it again so i cant tell if they fixed them. I assume they made a lot of improvements but first impression matters and most reviews dont go back and double review it. It shows they rushed the launch or didnt playtest enough.

i dont agree on pillars. It was not good enough. Pathfinder games both sold very well because the games has been good. Pillars forced a shitty boat minigame into ppl faces and had other problems. They eventually fixed them but on launch it wasnt a good game and that turned ppl off long term.

its not like ppl are talking about them since they opened up beta. Ppl also warned them anticheat is lacking and they need to get better for a extraction kind of pvp endgame. Like if you lose your loot in pvp and theres no proper anticheat, whats the point

what they did very well is the progression. each piece of building adds quality of live. like collection water etc. first buggy etc for mining. Every upgrade feels worth it. Its rare that games capture these kind of progression.

its great until you find out the endgame is all about pvp, cheaters and lack of content. Until reaching it, its a fantastic game worth of 70-100 hours of content.

their whole "pvp endgame" collapsed with ppl running with speedhack, overwriting game parameters, aimbot, invisible hack and do other things because the anticheat is lackluster and a bunch of things are client sided. Only a matter of time until the problem gets more widespread and media coverage.

guild wars 2. Theres an active player base, upcoming expansions and a sequel. They could beef up the graphics, improve performance, add frame gen and modern tech but it seems like all the ressources are going into GW3.
