Can I start calling myself a retro game developer? I'm doing all of my development work in Flash 2015 and FlashDevelop.

Previously known as Bits or Ores, Cores are elemental bombs that self-destruct as soon as they can. The second image shows some designs that were too interesting relative to the others, and they had to be simplified.

Here's my steps in designing and drawing a new foe… though in this case it’s based on an existing one. I need to pose the foe a bit while drawing to make sure it can do all the poses I will need later. Original concept art was by @kmau in 2009!

The social media links on my website have grown to extreme proportions... but at least this now serves as a record of "official" EBF accounts, even though I'm not very active on some of these platforms. Maybe I need to add some labels clarifying which ones are the best to follow me on...

The people who I'm currently working with are fans who made translation mods for my older games, so we've started making it official for my newer games.

bilibili specifically has a big culture of reposting foreign content with Chinese subtitled added, so it's possible there is already some awareness of your games there.

Nah. But the recent English version of the bilibili app does a pretty good job of automatically translating everything so you can communicate with users reasonably well. I try to post content where text isn't critical to understanding it.

My games on Steam that fully support Simplified Chinese (EBF5 and FMC) have more sales in China than any other country, in the last few years. Is this common for indie developers? I've only recently started to do marketing in China on bilibili, but my games are known there from the Flash game era.

Another example is arcade shoot-em-ups that adjust the difficulty of enemies based on how many times you've died etc.

There's games that do hidden difficulty options quite well. Games like Zelda, Pokemon, etc let you stockpile healing items or grind levels ups if you get stuck, which will make the game massively easier but may feel like cheating.

Steam is replacing curated featured sales with user-targeted sales. I think this means more indie games could get a chance to be shown to the right customers? Like games that would otherwise not qualify for a featured spot. steamcommunity.com/groups/steam...
