Nintendo has been throwing out major updates left and right for some older Switch games recently, so seeing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate updated for the first time in over a year might have unintentionally caused some excitement. However, Version 13.0.5 unfortunately isn't the Nintendo Switch 2 performance update many have been hoping for, and merely fixes an online bug that most players likely never even noticed.

Known SEGA Atlus leaker Lolilolaio has hinted that some Persona 6 character artwork that was posted online is legitimate. The artwork depicts the main character with the blonde hair and two of his companions. We heard earlier this week that Atlus seems to be aiming to release the long-awaited Persona 6 in September 2027. We may see the game at one of the showcases happening in the next couple of weeks.

Known retail leaker Billbil-kun has posted some more information on the currently unannounced Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2. The Definitive Edition features all updates, DLC, and gameplay improvements that were released since the original launch in 2022. Nintendo Switch 2 owners can naturally expect improved performance, better graphics and reduced loading times. Billbil-kun thinks that there could be some sort of surprise with the Deluxe Edition. Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition will retail for $50, though he says he's not sure when the game will actually release.

Mario has acquired quite a few adventures since his inception and some of you might be wondering why the team picked Super Mario Galaxy as the inspiration for the latest movie. Speaking to Polygon the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto and illumination CEO Chris Meledandri explained why they landed on Super Mario Galaxy for the latest film and it steams from the fact that the first film was set in the Mushroom Kingdom and they wanted somewhere new to visit and the endless possibilities of Galaxy seemed a natural choice.

SEGA has said in its recent Q3 financial report covering the period from October 2025 to December 2025 that the recently released mobile party game Sonic Rumble and its new releases such as Persona 3 Reload on Nintendo Switch 2 have performed below expectations. The company also said that sales of its older games weren’t as strong as they had hoped for either. "Collaborative title Sonic Rumble officially launched but struggled as each KPI fell below expectations" "New titles haven’t met the target KPI"

Nintendo has told IGN that it informs third party developers when their content doesn't match the Kyoto-based company's guidelines. However, it says Nintendo does not implement the changes, that's up to the developer. The statement comes as a response to the recently released Dispatch video game which has been censored when played on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Here's what they said:

Interest is basically as high as Steam Deck and PS5

The Pokemon Company has announced the Pokemon Super Music Collection for Japan and it contains a whopping five compacts discs. Digital Foundry has been putting Final Fantasy VII Remake through its paces ahead of its release and they seem impressed with what Square Enix has achieved on the Nintendo Switch 2. The team says that the game is somewhere between the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 version, sometimes closer to the PlayStation 4 version and sometimes closer to the PlayStation 5.

And it might be one of the last significant ones
