a Pokémon a day keeps artblock away #651 Quilladin

Illustration of Quilladin. The Pokémon is very happily hopping towards our left, it's mid-air and both of its arms are fully extended. It has a wide open happy smile and its eyes are looking to our right.

One of the best middle stages imo. I love that you gave them such a dynamic pose, rather than the "egg with stiff legs" look it usually gets :)

kinda comical that the majority of irony-poisoned folks that stayed on twitter because they got clout from dunking on right-wing accounts in order to look cool and funny have basically been arguing with bots from a russian bot-farm this whole time

It's one of those "having to ally with your enemy to stop the bigger threat" situations. I can't stand adobe, but this shit should still not be allowed.

We already have evidence that people will like a show/movie/franchise that goes beyond "fuck Disney".

You look like the middle stage in a three-stage Pokemon evolution where the last stage is @konjak.org. Yes, this is a compliment, as both of you are incredibly handsome. Also the first stage might be ScottTheWoz.

Lately a lot of AI "discourse" has been going around in the Pokemon romhacking community. For a bit, things seemed to be on the right track, but it was instantly backpedaled which really disappointed me. Anyways Too Many Productions has never, and will never use AI for our projects. I hate AI.

What sucks though is that the guy who runs hackdex also made Pokemon Unbound, which was one of my favourite rom hacks :(

000

Kuchenjaeger @kuchenjaeger.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Went to Hackdex to download Pokemon Odyssey, and was confused as to why it wasn't on there anymore. Turns out the guy who runs the site is vocally pro-ai, and so the Odyssey devs along with the Mariomon/TooManyTypes team asked for their games to be removed. Based.

I think it's really funny that Toby Fox, random guy who made music for homestuck and whose Kickstarter barely passed 50k USD, made one game and somehow rose to such heights that he is having dinner with titans of the games industry. All while being a pretty chill dude. #LastRT

Why did they turn it into a beige-brown, grounded detective story when the source material looks like this:

010

Kuchenjaeger @kuchenjaeger.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Watched the first two episodes of Lanterns. It might be a decent detective show, but I hate how it feels like someone slapped the Green Lantern ip on afterwards. It removes like 95% of all the fun Green Lantern stuff.

If you draw Harry Potter fan art, even "iRoNiCaLlY", you can straight up go fuck yourself. If you're doing it to trend hop you're pathetic. If you're doing it as some form of "reclamation" you're an idiot.

I love the Octopath games, but my god are the random encounters annoying. They are one of the biggest reasons why people tell you to start the games as Cyrus/Osvald. So you get Evasive Maneuvers early and can cut the encounter rate in half.

030

Kuchenjaeger @kuchenjaeger.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

I don't necessarily mind grinding in RPGs. I mind having my travel(especially when backtracking) interrupted by fights every 3 seconds. Why do you think everyone hates the caves in Pokemon games? I'm old enough to remember that we hated them even back during gen 1 and 2.

290

Kuchenjaeger @kuchenjaeger.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Random encounters are the number one thing I can't stand in modern games. If they are included in your game, then there is a 90% chance I will avoid it unless the option to regulate their frequency is built in from the start, and easily accessible.
