Yesterday 5 seniors from my lab graduated! This is an amazing group of women who have accomplished so much! I am thrilled for them but I'll be lost without them. It's also hard to watch them leave *now* when US science is so uncertain. Any lab would be lucky to have them but positions are slim....

I told kiddo #1 she could pick & cook recipes for a dinner this week from 1 of her cookbooks. She chose 1 pot pasta & sauce w/ turkey meatballs from ATK. I helped w/the meatballs b/c she's not so sure about raw meat (mom is a microbiologist and it shows) but she did the rest. All from scratch 😊

"That was where I wanted to go— communities where this was an item added to the list, communities that already were disenfranchised... Access to care was not that much of an issue for the majority of the members who had access to Fauci, who had access to trials. They could go into the trial because they had a good doctor, while all these people that I felt more identified with didn't."
Now, for Moisés Agosto-Rosario, the white men with access whose work had helped other community leaders open up government committees to people of color had become his new definition of ACT UP.
What about most of the other hundreds of people in ACT UP— did he think they had the same access?
"I don't know about everybody in ACT UP. I can't say that they did.
What I knew was that the people that I knew that were working on care, and treatment, and research had that access... I was disappointed with some of the answers I would get from people, like We can't fix everybody's life.... A majo…
