Great Plains Home A 4”x10” collage of magazine and dictionary pages on hand-painted paper. A small bouquet I made to welcome a new neighbor. #collageart #handcut #analogcollage #cutandpaste

The chaos engine that is the drunk driver … #gardenwoes #atleasttheydidnthitmyhouse
Several wooden raised garden beds lie in splintered ruins, though miraculously the leeks and carrots that were run over were still somewhat harvestable. The cucumber plants were uprooted and their trellises smashed. In the background is a stone house with a gas meter on the corner that the truck likely would have hit had the garden beds not stopped it.

“A MAN HAS TO BE” 11”x14” collage of magazine images, hand-painted paper, and an encyclopedia page. #collageart #handcut #analogcollage #cutandpaste
The key images are a muscular arm with a wrapped fist, a figure on one knee aiming a long gun, and orange flowers. A light-colored speckled circle highlights the dark figure of the figure with the gun. A darker circle highlights the wrapped fist, which is set off by flecks of white paint. The orange flowers are behind the darker circle. A blue background of white sparks from fireworks makes it look like the rifle is firing. Also in the dark blue-purple background are silhouettes of fighter jets. Outlined by orange are two text boxes. One is an old encyclopedia entry for testosterone. The other says A MAN HAS TO BE.

At 20”x15” this is the biggest collage I’ve done in quite some time. I got stuck on it and let it sit for a couple of months before finishing it over the past two days. #collageart #analogcollage #cutandpaste #climatechange #environmentalart
The most prominent element is a large eye with a brown iris and gold eye makeup surrounded by mums. A woman’s hands with pointed nails done up in flame and ice colors are posed sinuously. Background images include rocks and rocky landscapes, the burnt innards of Notre Dame, a cityscape, snowy trees, detritus of destroyed housing, a skull, sea foam and sand, water birds, a torch flame, and burning candles. Obviously words on the piece include: warning, heat, you help. Subtle words include: smoke, risk, water.

Doing a @historymadebyus civic wish wall in my neighborhood today.
A little red wagon with a poster board sign in it with a drawing of a birthday cake with 25 candles that says BIRTHDAY WISHES FOR AMERICA. Other text reads: 2026 2076 imagine the United States at 300 years. What’s your wish for the next 50 years? There are sticky notes with people’s wishes written on them stuck to the poster board. Nearby is a table with markers and blank sticky notes.

Today is a reminder that the work of protecting our country never ends. Democracy isn’t something we inherit and then forget about. Every generation has to decide whether it will stand up for it.

Our local library had a collage session for the 250th on the theme of “What does it mean to you to be an American?” Here’s what I produced. #collageart #analogcollage #cutandpaste #america250
Collage of magazine, mail, and book images. Text includes “instructions for early voters voting by mail“, “the leading Indian culture groups“, “songs of patriots”, “serving on a jury”, and “we the peo”. Images include an old encyclopedia map of Native American tribes, a red top hat 15 cent cancelled envelope stamp, a line drawing if Christopher Columbus, a row of Black Civil War soldiers, the Statue of Liberty, a black and white line drawing of an early American flag flying over a battle, and a line drawing of an arm holding a megaphone. Lines of metallic red stars appear to emit from the megaphone and wrap around the piece.

Artists, quote with your blue art. I created this piece to reflect a relaxation technique I use. Sometimes when I can’t get to sleep because my brain is stuck in gear, I can let go and drift off by thinking about different shades of blue. Goodnight, Bluesky! 💤💤💤💤💤💤 #collageart #analogcollage
Layers of blue and some multicolored sections of magnified crystal that are mostly blue, a blue tent, a bright star in a circle of dark blue sky, a blue boat on blue water, and a series of the letter “z in blue and silver that zig zag from the tent lower left, between the boat and star, and up to the moon upper right.

Art show poster that shows a brick wall and concrete sidewalk. On the brick wall is text in stencil and graffiti font: Art is resistance April first Friday community exhibition. A sign board reads April 3, 2026, 7-10pm 1867 Bar 101 N 14th st #6, 68508 hosted by Indivisible Nebraska Lincoln. Attended a self portrait class where they took and printed a photo of you to start. Had access to colored paper, scissors, glue sticks, and paint pens.
A black and white figure, their face washed out, holds their hands as if shrugging. Or maybe juggling, since there are double parentheses near the hands, possibly suggestion movement. What look like books pop from the page above the figure’s head, emphasized by short red lines. The legs of the figure, but off at mid-shin, are upper left, on a square of red paper with a gold line underneath. On a red square upper right is a gold question mark. Bottom left is a gold line with a red “tent” popping up from it.

Cold glass of WITCH hazel, anyone? #februllage day 25 #analogcollage #handcut
A nonsensical collage. Lower right: dark orange textured circle on a light orange textured background with an illustration of a vintage bottle of Hazeline witch hazel tonic leaning across the scene. Upper left: a packed scene of waterfowl with feathers that match the orange tones. One top of that image is a circle in a blue-green that matches the witch hazel bottle. On top of the circle is a glass fills with ice.
