Banned books week is officially over but that doesn't mean we can't keep sharing vital work that speak to the present from a past that the current imperialist agitators wish to suppress.

Take a look at To Joy My Freedom. A meticulously crafted work by Tera W. Hunter that brings to light the work and movements of "postbellum", newly emancipated Black women and how their work vibrates within our present.

This book and others like it are what white supremacist try to use to dismantle and prevent progress in the Black community recognizing the work of Black women as key to it's function and vitality.

I hope everyone gets a copy, available on my wishlist, to engage with a past that, today, feels all too present.
