Mine are sleep trained. They all pile in bed with me in their self selected spaces. I then pretzel around them. This is the only way. I recommend locking any human who does what you mentioned alone in a room until their spirit breaks.

Yeah it's bad everywhere. I'm glad I live with infrastructure to cope ok. We near desert so can get away with evaporative cooler most of time. Feel for you. 30s and no a/c and humility keeping overnight temps up. Yuck!

We got hit early and hard. We hit 100f/ 37.8 in March and got no spring. It's back to normal but normal is hot. I can't imagine 37 in uk. I lived in ireland and NI for 5 yrs. I don't remember it even hitting 30.

One year, my mom's poor shepherd launched himself through a window. One of mine got stuck in crawl space ( idiots setting off fireworks well after 4th). I hate it, too. I'm sorry for your poor pup.

I swear my cats are better at recognizing my emotional state than my dogs. My dogs are always clingy. My cats know when I need time alone or when snuggles will help. And I swear sometimes they adopt a tough love attitude.

Almost certainly, but it wasn't enough. In fairness, decades wouldn't have been enough. She was the best dog I ever had. I'm just glad I got to know her and she got to be happy for her last months.

This reminds me of my amazing Matilda. She had cancer when we adopted her. We only had 8 months with her but made them as happy as possible. She was the best bestest girl ever.
