I recall that a German general noted that we Americans do not read our manuals nor feel obligated to follow our doctrine, which makes it difficult to plan against us. Oddly enough (I guess), the collision didn’t surprise me when it happened. Didn’t find out the E-II was named K-22 until after the Soviet Union collapsed. 030

More like the term “khaki mafia” to refer to corrupt US military during Vietnam, but not an actual organization. 000

Exposed TVA-era electric wiring, coal-burning fireplace and running water only in an add-on room. Not exactly good times, enough to motivate me to leave at 17 and into a 32-year Navy career w/advanced deg. 030

Commanding officers rent conscript soldiers out for labor, while at the same time pocketing both the conscripts’ pay as well as the earnings from their labor out in town. 010

Canada is 10 provinces, would never agree to be 1 state. So 10 new states, 20 Senators & just under 50 new Cong reps, who are overwhelmingly liberal. 000

I saw them in action in Ukraine.
