September was massive with releases across 5 weeks, but what did readers love the most? We've got the Sept. 2026 Top Rated Comics from the League of Comic Geeks community. A Mischief of Magpies swooped in to secure the top spot, but as usual — these are all incredible reads.

Which is how Marvel successfully did in the end. And I still feel like there could be another chapter written to connect Marvel’s own Sentry based on character comparisons. Connect the dots, so to speak… 🧩

Here's the chain: Philip Wylie's 1930 novel Gladiator inspired Superman, which inspired Captain Marvel, which led to Marvelman, which became Miracleman. Heck, there’s even a possible connection with Todd McFarlane almost acquiring the rights via Eclipse comics… but failing to…

So my journey down the MM rabbit hole continues… At this point I should probably aim for a thesis 🤣 I found the perfect source for research though! #PoisonedChalice by Pádraig Ó Méalóid. It connects the dots all the way back to the 30s, tying the origins to something that even predates Superman…

Meanwhile DC brought Captain Marvel back in the 70s and eventually bought him outright. But Marvel had grabbed the trademark after Fawcett's lapsed and still owns the name today, which is why he still goes by SHAZAM! at DC now (or "The Captain" 😤).

Then years later Marvel creates the Sentry (who feels an awful lot like Miracleman imho) and then turns around and buys Miracleman outright anyway…

But over in England, the reprints dried up, so they cooked up #Marvelman to fill the publishing gap. Then when Marvelman made it to the US, Marvel wasn't gonna share the "Marvel" name and got irate, so he had to become Miracleman.

Fawcett's Captain Marvel (aka SHAZAM!) was quasi copied off DC's Superman. It got real once he started outselling Supes and became the first superhero on the silver screen. Then after years of lawsuits, Fawcett finally threw in the towel in 1953 and abandoned Cap completely.

I'm officially down a #Miracleman rabbit hole and fully hyperfixated at this point… Send help lol I think I've always known all this, but I'm just now really connecting the crazy dots. So let me get this straight… 🧵 #ComicSky #KIMOTA

50 years after getting the DC 1976 calendar I was finally able to cobble together a DC bullet using Neal Adams design but with Mike Grell's images. The first one, updated for pride and Supergirl this summer. The last one follows the design form more accurately but has a variety of artists.
