A small #Fanart for Shinorinee in #pixelart Reference: @theposearchives.bsky.social First time making one this big. I liked how the waves in the outfit turned out. I also think I did a good job with the lighting, and the shapes are well defined The chat, well... xD #KrybanArt #ShinoriArt

One eye and a lock of hair. I’m fascinated by dithering; with just a few patterns, you can give volume to something flat and pixelated. There’s still hair, the horns, and the ears to finish, but it's coming together slowly #pixelart #krybanArt

I never posted this here, but I made a pretty big write-up over on Tumblr for anyone interested in learning #pixelart! It's a guide on software, fundamentals, jargon and resources. Since links are legal on Bsky I can share it: www.tumblr.com/tofupixel/75... #tutorial Hope someone finds it useful!

A screenshot of a tumblr post reading:

"Title: So you want to learn pixel art?
Subtitle: Part 1 of ??? - The Basics!

Hello, my name is Tofu and I'm a professional pixel artist. I have been supporting myself with freelance pixel art since 2020, when I was let go from my job during the pandemic."

Two images comparing artistic improvement, the left is of a rudimentary tree, and the right is of a statue in a wall recess surrounded by plants and dappled light.

"My progress, from 2017 to 2024. IMO the only thing that really matters is time and effort, not some kind of natural talent for art.

This guide will not be comprehensive, as nobody should be expected to read allat. Instead I will lean heavily on my own experience, and share what worked for me, so take everything with a grain of salt. This is a guide, not a tutorial. Cheers!"

A few months ago, I started this project #MiniPixelNoroi of drawing the avatars of the Vtuber group called: Norois. Only two are left, and I will finish the project. What comes next? I don't know xD The challenge was to draw them in no more than ~25x25px. #KrybanArt #Pixelart #Vtubers #Chibi

I came across an outdated guide on image grid sizing crop/proportions for bsky earlier, and I felt it was important to create an updated version! Please use this new guide instead!

Up-to-date BlueSky Crop Aspect Ratio
Crop Sizes for Bluesky as of 18 Oct 2024

By default, single images are uncropped. If image is too tall (Exceeds the 1:2 aspect ratio) then it will be cropped. Single images that are too tall may be scaled down but aspect ratio is preserved

With two images, both of them share a square aspect ratio of 1:1

For three images, the first image is square (1:1) while the other two are half-squares (2:1)

And for 4 images, all of them are 3:2
