A wonderful discovery of a new species, Protosticta sooryaprakashi damselfly, from the Western Ghats, India! The paper is at: doi.org/10.11646/zoo... We have nearly doubled the known Protosticta species of the Western Ghats within 10 years. I will soon be hitting a personal 40 new species!

Butterflies and their caterpillars are not only pretty to look at for us, they are also tasty for their predators! Here is a cuckoo feeding on a butterfly caterpillar in India. It is important to record these ecological interactions. Anyone up for correctly identifying both the species?

This is the most beautiful rainbow that I have ever seen. Superb golden morning light after a shower, with verdant hills in the background. It almost appeared like a gateway to heaven, with a colourful double arch above. Yingkiong town, Siang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh, India.

I wrapped up field work in Siang & Dibang Valleys, Arunachal Pradesh, India, two days ago. At my last rest stop, a stunning visitor landed on the dining table, as if saying, 'don't leave!'. It was Banded Redeye (Gangara lebadea; www.ifoundbutterflies.org/gangara-leba...). I'll be back next year!
