Some Mitsubishi MP-286L beauty shots. Still in the process of restoring it. It fully works now, just some extraneous things that I need to fix up, like the HDD. The aberration you see on the plastic texture in the last pic is actually visible to the eye and looks just as weird lol.

still have to figure out her look. she was originally some kind of eagle. but i leaned more into a gull after pondering about feeding her stolen chips at the beach 🤤 but i really like the beak shape and dark tip so... anyways, height comparison with my sona. she's the perfect height ;> #furryart

the keyboard itself has yellowed evenly. it's hard to get the yellowing across but, it actually kinda works because it's turned more bronze than piss yellow. i believe the original colour is off white grey, so i think that's the reason for this shade.

I'm sure some keyboard dorks will appreciate. There's no backplane, and the board merely sits on top of two posts. it's held in place with the chassis, cable and ground strap. So, it's slightly soft feeling and has a bit of flex. that said, they are ALPS something or others.

unfortunately it is a non runner for right now. i tore into it to deal with the bios battery. being a nicad, it was bound to be leaking, and sure enough. everything else seemed okay. the corrosion just got to the connector. doesn't appear to have gone through to other components/underside.

took inventory of this sleek mitsubishi mp-286l / mp2120. it was marketed as a laptop, but it weighs 6.8kg (15lbs) and requires plugging into the wall. so it's more of a luggable. has an (AMD made) Intel 286 at 12MHz. i'm missing the EMS board, so only 640K of RAM :( iirc Type 23 is 10MB HDD.

tl;dr optical sights should be mounted to a "overhang" rail attached to this bit of metal on the side of the weapon. i especially beef with video games that put them on top of the rear iron sight post because it is inconsistent visually w/ other weapon optics and etc. cod4 is ugly but it's correct.

tried out the @heatwarped.com demo. yeah, pretty solid. the handling is nice and predictable. i had issues with no light dummies (headlights/street lights) which made seeing oncoming traffic nigh impossible, so i ended up playing the whole demo on "hard" lol. there was also some odd frame pacing >

Though, for maximum commitment to the bit, I would have to use a double density disk. It's kind of interesting that they modelled the diskette pickup a blue 2DD disk. Kinda makes me think a dev modelled it after an Atari ST or Amiga diskette they had lying around.

Saving a GTA San Andreas save file to a floppy disk... Something I've pondered about for a while and found it was possible via making a symbolic link between the expected save directory and the floppy drive. So, not mods, purely vanilla install, just OS stuff :>
