Cracking my middle aged egg in May 2025 in the UK. Impeccable timing you could say. Trans women, she/her, Scotland Block and move on if an interaction is joyless.

oof, that one hits hard, it feels like when I first listened to Only by NIN
Lyrical excerpt from Only by NIN

Yes, I am alone, but then again I always was
As far back as I can tell
I think maybe it's because
Because you were never really real
To begin with

I just made you up to hurt myself
I just made you up to hurt myself
Yeah, and I just made you up to hurt myself

Quote by the CEO of National Grid (NESO) from last week when he visited the UK's largest wind farm. Essentially saying Scotland should attract AI data centers to be built next to wind farms.
“Scotland produces significant amounts of clean, home-grown electricity that is vital for Britain’s energy security.

“There is the opportunity to harness that energy to fuel growth in Scotland. With clearer, long-term planning of where demand grows, including for infrastructure like data centres, we can reduce pressure on the network, cut costs paid by consumers and make better use of our renewable energy.”

Another direct quote from John Howie, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Babcock. This is also so much made up bullshit. I was at an open day with my eldest last month at a college in central Scotland where Babcock were present and were totally unmolested, no one cared.
Quote from John Howie, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Babcock

He also told MPs that university recruitment fairs were increasingly difficult for defence companies to attend, not because universities objected but because factions within them would “sabotage” stands with posters, making staff reluctant to talk openly about their work outside the company.

Hahaha, when even investment bankers don't have your back you really have to ask yourself if you are the bad guy. Seriously, the arrogance of this statement.
Quote from John Howie, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Babcock

[In the USA] investment managers told him they had “a patriotic duty to invest in defence because the armed forces are an extension of the country”, whereas in the UK he had spoken to people who “almost look with distaste at the idea that we might be creating weapons of mass destruction.”

OK, so indirectly asking for the Scottish Government to do something about these pesky right to protest laws?
Quote from John Howie, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Babcock

the company had experienced five or six blockade protests where police prioritised keeping the peace over enabling around 3,000 workers to access their site to support what he described as “critical operations right now.”

OMG, it takes half the article to get to the quote from Powell that tells me that the party STILL doesn't get that though. Nope, sorry hun, the electorate were not telling you that you need to Starmer harder.
Quote from the article from Lucy Powell "There’s no doubt that we suffered from a large protest, with voters telling us to do better, be stronger about our purpose and values, and deliver the change we promised faster and more clearly,” she said. “We have ceded the political megaphone and it’s up to us to strongly and proudly get that back.”

New Star Wars villian just dropped
Badly photoshopped mashup between the robotic leader who's face is an amalgamation of Michael Myers, The Crow, and a human shrunken head and the current leader of the Labour Party, Sir Keir Starmer.

Your right of course, what the Democratic party needs, to regain the trust of people is to support people who have stated that they would have loved to have taken part in the eradication of the indigenous people of North America. Unless I got wrong which side he wanted to fight on.
Deleted now from Reddit post where Graham Platner brags about which wars he would like to have fought in.

John Schlesinger, genius director of Billy Liar, Midnight Cowboy and Marathon Man presents a film that was universally panned and lasted 1 week in theatres before being pulled. I give you Honky Tonk Freeway. The budget was $24M, world wide gross was £2M.

Has anyone heard from Jossu recently? I'm worried that her account has been hacked. The account just DM'ed me to ask to share my Discord account so she send me details of a bluesky ticket that she had raised against me by mistake. When I said I didn't have Discord the account blocked me.

It was never about the safety of women. Given that there is likely to be around 1000 female competitors in the World Athletics Championships, this means that the test is unlikely to find any trans athletes but it WILL destroy the careers of 2 women and radically change their lives forever.
Quote from the article in the OP post. "At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, eight of 3,387 women athletes had positive test results for a Y chromosome. Of these, seven were resistant to testosterone."

Responding to a popular post about Cobain’s transness on Tumblr years back, one trans woman put it perfectly. “The point of the post,” she says, “is not that kurt cobain was a trans woman, or even that kurt cobain was an egg. the point of the post is that us trans people are never allowed to claim our dead…no amount of evidence would ever convince a cis person that kurt cobain wasn’t one of them. the point is that cis people always get to claim anyone as one of their own, and we never do.”

Indeed, four and a half hours after Lammy's speech a UK spy plane that we use to help Israel identify targets in Gaza left Cyprus, guess it's destination?

Sorry, I thought we were still engaging in Peter's original thread, but one example would be early Amazon, who only got a foothold to build their monopoly by not paying sales tax in each US state.
