Back in Boulder after 10 days in the NW. Missing the cold moisture and lush gardens; but we have our own sun loving heat tolerant flowers and abundant sunshine!

These echinaceas are thriving in an irrigated gravel bed. Red, orange, pink, and salmon daisy-like flowers glow over fresh green foliage.

More glorious echinaceas in scarlet and hot pink.

Mexican hay flowers in mahogany and yellow; glaucous fine leaves foliage is a lush counterpoint.

I just deleted 16 years of Facebook and Instagram contacts - former students and colleagues, friends and family. I’ll miss seeing their milestones, and I’ll miss the groups posting pictures and talking about gardens, travel, raising children, teaching, old houses, and museums.
