My tiny running watch screen shows interactive charts with exact values on tap. But mobile data viz feels still often as an afterthought in project convos. It's not about technical limits anymore. It's a design and esp. prioritization choice to properly create mobile data viz if needed. #dataviz

When I create interactive #dataviz, I first ask what screen sizes / devices / browsers / performance constraints we need to design for. Because if it's only works on my most powerful laptop, it's not production ready. So I expanded my set of testing devices. It's 2026, but real testing is still key!

I like these (relatively new) digital displays in some of #Berlin U-Bahn stations. A great addition would be highlighting a train when it's approaching from the previous station. That's the first thing I check. Then I know I have to take to my heels to go down the stairs to catch it. #dataviz

Currently working on a personal data art project with an enormous amount of data. Started with 451 million rows in one giant CSV file. After days of juggling with DuckDB and crashing my laptop, the data engineering step finally performant enough to start with the fun visual work in p5 🤩 #dataviz
