Long August light #StreetPhotography #StreetPhoto #Vancouver #VanSPC #BritishColumbia #EverydayEverywhere #CandidPhotography #DocumentaryPhotography #ColorPhotography #UrbanPhotography #LightAndShadow #GoldenHour #Photography #UrbanLife

A deep shadow falls across a tiled building facade on a Vancouver sidewalk, casting the sharp silhouette of a person raising a camera to their eye. Through a gap between buildings in the background, a small group of people stand on a sunlit street beside a fire hydrant. A Canada Gold sign and a clock are visible in the distance.

The storefront of a souvlaki and pizza restaurant on a Vancouver street, lit by strong directional sunlight. A Coca-Cola fridge and a Great Gyros menu poster are visible through the window. The number 613 is displayed on the door.

Two U-Haul trucks parked side by side in a gravel back alley, their identical rear advertising panels facing the camera. Behind them, a weathered two-storey wooden building with open staircases and balconies rises between two concrete walls.

Close-up of the back of a person's head on a Vancouver street. They wear a woven straw bucket hat with a blue band and a dark denim jacket. The background is dark and softly blurred.

Dim sum buddies meet up before self-defense class #StreetPhotography #Vancouver #VanSPC #Chinatown #VancouverChinatown #BritishColumbia #CandidPhotography #DocumentaryPhotography #PeopleOfVancouver #ColorPhotography

Two older women stand on the sidewalk outside a Chinese restaurant in Vancouver's Chinatown. One, with short grey hair and glasses, leans toward the restaurant window carrying a white tote bag. The other, wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat, green coat, and floral dress, stands beside her looking ahead. Warm sunlight falls across the red brick wall behind them.

A handwritten flyer taped to a weathered, paint-peeling pole in Vancouver's Chinatown advertises self-defense classes in Chinese kung fu, promising to teach how to defeat multiple attackers. Below the flyer, the pole is painted with an orange mural of fruit-laden branches.

The interior of a Chinatown hair salon viewed through its glass storefront. Chinese characters and the word HAIR are painted on the window. Two people are visible inside — one seated in a stylist's chair, another resting in a waiting chair. A Schwarzkopf hair colour poster and a no smoking sign are affixed to the glass.

An older man stands on a Vancouver street looking directly at the camera with a calm, steady gaze. He wears a patterned head wrap, a long burgundy scarf, a floral shirt, and a green jacket, and carries a large rust-coloured cushion under one arm. Trees are softly blurred behind him.

A woman walks away from the camera along a covered sidewalk in Vancouver's Chinatown. Her curly hair catches the warm light. A red ornamental lamp post and parked cars are visible in the background.

A partial view of a vintage roadside cafe sign, with large yellow neon letters reading OY'S on a black panel, and a faded blue panel below reading FE, together suggesting Roy's Cafe. A white A-frame building and desert streetscape are visible below under a clear blue sky.

A sandwich board reads 'Proudly Serving Fernwood Coffee.'

Black and white film photograph of a convex safety mirror at a CN Rail private crossing. The mirror reflects a pair of railway tracks receding into the distance, flanked by dense shrubs and trees. To the left, a stop sign and a bilingual "Private Crossing / Passage à niveau privé" warning sign are mounted on the same post. Industrial structures are visible in the background.

Black and white film photograph: a self-portrait reflected in a convex safety mirror at a rail yard. The photographer holds a twin-lens reflex camera — a Rolleiflex — at waist level, face partially silhouetted against a bright sky. A baseball cap, watch, and ring are visible. Overgrown vegetation and rail infrastructure are reflected around the figure. The mirror's curved edge and lens flare add to the lo-fi, tactile quality of the image.
