A recipe for increased gun violence. Until a few weeks ago, 18-year-olds could only legally purchase a long gun from a licensed dealer. Now, thanks to the DOJ, they can legally buy handguns—the most trafficked firearms—while teens are simultaneously being recruited into gun trafficking networks.

This should shock and alarm us all. American high schoolers are being recruited into gun trafficking networks that arm Mexican cartels. When lethal weapons are this easy to divert into the illegal market, the consequences don’t stop at our border. They fuel violence on both sides of it.
