This is a target I worked on for almost all of September. The Dark Shark Nebula in Cepheus. I think I pushed my DWARF3 to its limit with this, I know I hit mine when editing it. This is 20 hours, 2400 subframes, and multiple editing attempts. #astrophotography #DWARF3

The Dark Shark Nebula is a dark nebula composed of dust that blocks out light. With a small smart telescope like the DWARF3 and bortle 5 skies, even at 20 hours the shape is only faintly visible before editing. After editing you can see the brighter area of dust on the lower right of the image that could resemble a shark. I had someone tell me it looked more like an angry opossum and I can't disagree. The rest of the background has a mix of much lighter dust clouds which adds another level of difficulty to editing.

A cropped image with the Shark Nebula filling the lower half of the image. In the dust making up the shark, a bright star shines where an eye would be and a few other brighter stars shine around the outline.

When I was in college, I used to come home every other weekend to do laundry & watch #Stargate. Showtime would play the prior week's episode at 8PM Friday and the current week's episode at 9PM. hat a great franchise they launched. I truly do miss the stories... #SaveStargate #SaveTheGate

An inquisitive image that has Teal'c on it and the message "When you try to make Stargate SG-1 memes popular in the hopes that MGM will see them and realize there is a demand for a new Stargate TV Series but dies horribly. I miss Stargate.
