The risks in using AI without paying attention to what's going on under the hood are plainly foreseeable. But it feels like one of those dangers where every single person is going to have to learn it for themselves by getting burned.

I've been in such time warps yesterday. Took my kiddo to a mall I haven't been to in yeeears and the huge place was playing MMMBop overhead. Disorienting. And now I just saw Madonna take an award from Baby Spice on stage (morbidly curious about MTV awards) so like...WHAT YEAR IS IT?!

I *think* I'd be more excited about AI tools if I didn't know they'd be eaten up by people that absolutely do not want to interact with humans. And a lot of those people are in tech, still trying to make powerful stuff for humans. We never cracked that nut but here we are, handing it to AI.

Still debating how/if the timing of babies in my life during the acceleration of AI is helping or negatively overwhelming my brain, but I can say that swapping "touch grass" for a giggly, smiley baby is a major upgrade. And of course the increasingly-clever 3yo antics. Life's gonna life.
