KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 22hThis feels like more wishful thinking. A now deeply rutted pattern. 010 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 22hI’d be a fan of Cole Weintraub’s proposal of signing Suzuki and Sato. I wanted Suzuki a couple years ago. He’ll be expensive now, and 32, but they have other aging guys anyway. Sato is 27. It gives you RF and 3B. I still think Trea to OF. Can move Stott to SS if you can still afford Arraez. 010 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 22hDo you think that the issue is drafting or talent development or both? There are plenty of other MLB orgs that trade away talent and they still develop more true prospects. 110 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 16/10/2026I think about Arraez and Hill with the Phillies; one underperformed his average career performance at the plate, and the other over performed it. There is a scenario where keeping both guys could be parts of a better overall roster. But resigning Luis alone is not it. 100 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 15/10/2026Guardians putting up way more of a fight than most would have guessed given the way the season played out. Guards are challenging Rays way more than Yankees did. We might end up with a midwest World Series w CLE & MIL. (Not counting out Rays -or even Dodgers- yet, though. Gotta play it out.) 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 15/10/2026It’s not like Turner said “it would be fun to suck at SS this year”; it can’t just be made mandatory and suddenly he will perform! I guess the plan is to cross their fingers and tighten their sphincter and Trea will miraculously be better. 010 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 15/10/2026So the threat is that if he doesn’t play well they will move him midyear? Dumpster fire. Or the next year? Dude has to relearn another position if he’s gonna play there. 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 15/10/2026I prefer to have a VP job where I earn that money but don’t actually have to perform the job, no one holds me accountable, and they don’t change my job. What? That’s not how the world works? I actually need to perform to keep the job I want? 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 15/10/2026All true. Yes, and… the most credible bullpen management critique was how often he had guys warm up (and didn’t use them in-game). It was happening constantly and likely exacerbated the problem. 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 14/10/2026The Raaauuuuuuuuull chants woulda been fun every time he came out to change the pitcher. (And he would not have been able to tell the diff when fans just started booing the manager) 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 14/10/2026They could get away with re-signing Arraez without being accused of running it back. But that move in isolation does not do much. I haven’t looked at the offseason calendar, but I guess they will tender offer to Kerkering and Marsh, maybe Marchan, then try to trade them. They can still option Orion 100 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 13/10/2026Definitely shows in the results; several other orgs draft at similar levels and churn out guys who play at their upside. Phillies are barely able to field guys who can compete. 250 5
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 13/10/2026It potentially makes the argument for putting the money into better scouting and player development. 100 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 11/10/2026When the Eagles hot their field goal with 8 seconds left, I was saying to the TV “stay focused; don’t do anything stupid… there’s 8 seconds left!” But saying it in a halfway resigned way like “they ain’t gonna listen” 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 11/10/2026I’d take Ramirez all day, though. Ridiculous, fun series betwn Sox and Guards. I imagine TB is heavily favored against CLE, altho CLE played well w backs against the wall. There were really only 2 or 3 good teams in AL this year, and TB was dominant. 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 10/10/2026So a bad contract xchg might be 2 TOR guys for Trea. Not likely, but… PHL: $80M 3 yrs, 2 guys who may not play, but could return from injury to contrib TOR: $189M, 7 years for guy who will play, might return to All-Star form, but prob just be below avg Not sure this makes sense for either team 010 1

KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Crazy how neither Guardians nor White Sox can win at home in the playoffs so far. 020 2
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 08/10/20265 teams have never won a World Series. 3 of those teams made the playoffs this year and made it to the LDS round. One of those teams eliminated another in the NLDS. 2 of the 4 teams are into the LCS round, hoping to make it to the WS. 020 2
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I’m team Brew Crew all the way. It’s gonna be a dogfight though. Dodgers are just so clutch. 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Good question. In past I think there’s a certain amount of time once an NPB team posts a player. But it is usually in that Nov-Jan window. Not sure how they’d incorporate that. Maybe the NPB players would prefer to skip to next year. 010 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Definitely buy into this. Wanted them to get Okamoto for 3B last year. Not to dump Bohm, but they were pursuing Bichette, why not Okamoto? Also had hoped for a trade for Suzuki when Cubs had too many OFs. So this new combo would make them interesting to watch.nbcsportsphilly.app.linkPhillies need a new identity, and Japan offers a path forwardJapanese-born stars have become fixtures in October. This winter, the Phillies have another opportunity to enter a market that has been out of reach. 120 2
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 07/10/2026It’d be awesome to have a podcast debate (or just an article that is transcript of the conversation) between you and Ruben Jr who thinks Don is great. 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Yeah. Made me laugh in my head like an unhinged lunatic when this story came out yesterday. 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Is it possible to take the money budgeted for free agents and friggin buy an actually good young player under team control for 2-3 years rather than committing to another aging guy for 5 more years? There seem to be a lot of owners more focused on $ than competition. 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Hahaha… This team has become completely ridiculous…. hahaha…. smh 010 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 07/10/2026He’s a red-light player. None of the stats peeps have figured out how to measure players who are clutch (hit better the higher the pressure). 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 07/10/2026And sounds like his back isn’t stopping or stunting his play 👍🏼🤞🏼🤞🏽🤞🏽 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 06/10/2026-If trade Schwarber, prob large prospect return. What teams likely, what return? If so, may as well have big sell-off if top two RBI guys leaving team. -If “just field a team” in 2027, and Zack doesn’t extend, maybe he’d go to contender at deadline. -Use the huge return to field younger team in 2028 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I’d be interested in examining *realistic* trade return for some of the guys -Eg: people say trade Trea, but what east coast team(s) might take $190M for next 7y as he ages from 34-41 after recent performance? What $ they have to eat & what return? 100 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 06/10/2026If Phillies keep spending on free agents who are not reclamation projects, it’ll continue to be long term deals that back them further into a corner. But, if that’s the plan, I like Arozarena’s fit a little better, but Suzuki finally opens the door to Japanese talent, which is a linger term value. 000 0

KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Yup. On a wet, soggy day where the ball is slick, shoulda taken the 3. They’d be behind by 1 and a field goal would win it. Now they need a TD. 🙄 110 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I get the Rams are a dynamic team, but on a wet, soggy day, when it’s difficult to grip the ball, better to go for the 3 points on that 4th down. 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Convo needs to happen & handled correctly. Trea was a much more productive offensively before he came to Phillies. Frankly, if he insists on staying at SS despite poor performance on both sides of the ball, it smacks of the Casty-in-denial, acting like a diva when he’s not performing. 010 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Tough to distinguish btwn who I’d like and believe will win. -Believe: Padres, Dodgers, Yankees, White Sox -Want: Brewers, Dodgers, Rays, dunno Often root for CLE, but Sox run is cool. Want ATL, NYY to lose. Like MIL style of play, but SD is *hot* Note: MIL, SD, TB never won a WS, ea been there 2x 000 0
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 03/10/2026If they want Turner to play OF, it would take more than a normal Spring Training to get him ready for that. And they’d need to pick an OF position and stick to it. With the 2027 jacked up season, the guy would need to work on it on his own. 010 1
KP @kp-paul.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Does white mean something different now? Does it mean now mean DUI? Or “doesn’t accept responsibility for one’s own behavior”? Because I am white and need to know what I’m actually telling people when I fill in that little dot on surveys. 000 0
