Thrilled to share that our paper is now out in Cell Stem Cell!🧬 We generated spermatogonia from human and non-human primate pluripotent stem cells, opening new avenues for studying human germ cell biology and in vitro gametogenesis. www.nature.com/articles/d41... www.cell.com/cell-stem-ce...

Generation of spermatogonia from human and non-human primate pluripotent stem cells
Sasaki and colleagues generate human and macaque male germ cells up to meiotic onset, including prepachytene piRNA-expressing spermatogonia, from induced pluripotent stem cells. These cells self-organ...

Modeling human prenatal adrenocortical functional zonation dynamics from pluripotent stem cells
Mayama and colleagues generate ACTH-responsive, cortisol- and androgen-producing human adrenocortical cells from induced pluripotent stem cells. This platform models prenatal functional zonation in vitro and in vivo, enabling mechanistic studies of human adrenal development and steroidogenesis and providing a foundation for future cell-based therapies for adrenal disorders.

Featured in Penn Today: our human adrenal organoid platform. Rather than modeling hormone output alone, we reconstruct progenitor-driven zonal architecture providing a new framework to study how stem cells build and maintain endocrine function. penntoday.upenn.edu/news/stress-...

Stress tested, testing stress: Novel organoid models how the adrenal gland develops | Penn Today
Researchers led by Penn Vet’s Kotaro Sasaki and Michinori Mayama have developed an organoid system that faithfully mimics how the human adrenal gland develops and forms complex tissue structures, prov...

Thrilled to share our new paper in Cell Stem Cell! 🧬 We generated stem cell–derived human adrenal tissue with functional zonation, recapitulating key aspects of the adrenal cortex’s 3D architecture and steroidogenic activity. www.cell.com/cell-stem-ce... Kudos to the entire team!

Reconstitution of adrenocortical functional zonation from human pluripotent stem cells
The adrenal cortex produces essential steroid hormones through a concentric zonal architecture, established by the centripetal trans-differentiation of subcapsular progenitors within a capsule-derived...
