Truly, there are very few things that I enjoy more than sitting outside on a cool, cloudy day, with a roaring fire going in the chiminea. The smell of the wood smoke reminds me of the rendezvous that I used to attend many years ago, a long way from this desert place. I do miss it.

Four weeks in, and it's still weird being wide awake overnight. 😂 On the plus side, finding plenty of time to get shit done on my nights off. I am glad that I physically/mentally adjusted to the new schedule quickly, wasn't too hard to adapt to.

One of my favorite military BP cartridge rifles. It has been 135 years since it was manufactured, but looks almost new. Made sometime between March and June of 1888 during the brief reign of Kaiser Friedrich III, this is an Infanterie-Gewehr 71/84, made at the Spandau arsenal. Amazing craftsmanship!
