so happy about the results of this toronto election

A bad photoshop of a Toronto elections result map, showing Dianne Saxe as councillor for every ward as well as mayor. An edit of the Jeb! meme with Dianne Saxe's face is overlaid.

it will never cease to amaze me how much of rationalism is just reinventing religion but worse. what if our hymns were about the supermarket

Landsailor
Deepwinter strawberry
Endless summer, ever spring
A vast preserve
Aisle after aisle in reach
Every commoner made a king.

i can't say i expected the liberal nomination race for an MPP seat to get... "ballot irregularity" accusations???

“I’ve spoken to a few scrutineers in there who said they’ve never seen anything like it, and it’s unreal what happened in there,” he added, speaking of his observers in the counting room where the tally showed he lost by 19 votes.

Ilford HP5 (usually pushed one or two stops) for B&W, ONESEC (canadian brand, but it's the same stock as you get for similarly named stuff anyways) 800T & 400D for C41 color

It is night. The convenience store is open, the ATM sign is lit up. It's bright inside, and dark out here. You can still see the crosswalk, light cast out on it.

A man plays inside a bar, but we do not see his face, only his guitar. It's empty, but the lights are on, reflected on polished wooden tables.

People are crossing the street, but you can't see them, not really. Only their legs are visible, lit up by headlights; behind them, a colorfully lit up 7/11; above them, red streetlights.

The airport is across from the lake, the sky is a faded blue. Sunlight shines down, almost red, across the water's waves, calm, warm, late in the afternoon, almost sunset, now.
